The recordings from these two days were released as the album 'Budokan' in November of the same year, which was later officially released worldwide. In 2007, the master tapes were discovered. After lengthy negotiations, the album was finally released 45 years after the initial visit to Japan. Those involved at the time reunited for the project, with Heckel Kanno, who planned the original 'Budokan' concert in 1978, serving as the overall supervisor. The engineer who recorded the album at that time created 2023 remixes from 24-channel multi-tapes, and the artwork was designed by the same artist as before. The album was commercialized as a Japan-led project. The album contains 36 tracks across 8 previously unreleased LPs, featuring complete live recordings from the band's first visit to Japan. It also includes memorabilia such as tickets, pamphlets, posters, and flyers. Additionally, there is a 60-page color photo book with live photos from the airport, press conferences, and Japan shows, as well as off-shoots and liners. The Japanese booklet contains commentary, testimonies, secret stories from those involved, and lyrics with bilingual translation. Bob Dylan is one of the most influential figures in the history of popular music. In a career spanning over six decades, he evolved from folk troubadour to rock’n’roll revolutionary, constantly pushing boundaries and challenging expectations. Dylan’s early life was characterised by an intense interest in music and a multitude of influences. He began playing guitar and harmonica as a teenager, and his passion for folk and blues led him to the Greenwich Village folk scene in New York City in the early 1960s. He adopted the stage name Bob Dylan and quickly gained attention for his poignant songwriting and unique voice. In 1962, Dylan released his eponymous debut album, which emphasised his folk roots and included traditional folk songs alongside some of his own compositions. It was not until his second album, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan (1963), that he became a major force in the revival of folk music. This album contained timeless classics such as Blowin’ in the Wind and A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall, songs that became anthems of the civil rights movement and symbols of social change.

In the course of the 1960s, Dylan’s music took a radical turn. At the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, he famously went electric and incorporated rock instruments into his sound. The following albums, including Bringing It All Back Home (1965), Highway 61 Revisited (1965) and Blonde on Blonde (1966), showed a fusion of folk, rock and poetic lyricism that earned him the title Spokesman of a Generation. His songs like The Times They Are A-Changin’ and Like a Rolling Stone captured the spirit of the turbulent 1960s and inspired a new generation of musicians to use their art as a platform for change. In the late 1970s, he also turned his attention to Christianity and released albums with strong religious references, such as Slow Train Coming (1979).
