As well as point towards the big new RDL Shellah (formerly known as Rdl) & Seekersinternational release, we thought we'd do a little rundown of Bokeh Versions bits, in case there are any gaps you'd like to fill, from this fine label.

The label now operates from within our HQ here, and Miles is a close friend so we may be biased, but honestly Miles at BKV is a unique label-head in the sense that he really gets behind such a vast range of projects and artists (from Jamaica to Brazil, via Japan, and Bristol of course) and manages to tie them - never too tightly - into his BKV world, full of curveballs, twists, turns - and all the magic that comes with that. From dubwise outsider music, to straight up steppers gold, dancehall straight from JA, through to noise, dub-punk and industrial - there's something here for everyone. If you haven't yet, make sure you dig in / tune in to the world of Bokeh Versions, and its offshoots.

'Showcase EP' - the latest release, comes from RDL Shellah, straight out of Portmore, Jamaica. Productions on this release come from the elusive Canadian-Philipino-via-JA genius cru Skrsintl, with some of the most big-hittin' rhythms we've ever heard from this music machine - think early 2000s RnB meets skewed contemporary Jamaican Dancehall, and you're halfway there. This release, as many of the recent Bokeh / Duppy Gun Productions, were recorded at the new Duppy Gun / Roolingz Musik studio, which has recently been built by vocalist & producer Ijahbahr and friends, made possible with funds from the Bokeh Versions, Duppy Gun and Roolingz community, who have contributed by purchasing releases, and making donations. (There are more projects going on there, including a house being built for artist residencies, so get in touch if you'd like to donate) - so yes, this is a very valid project already for this reason - re-connecting the often-praised, but not-often truly appreciated & truly included world of Jamaican music, with the rest of the world.

This Showcase EP release is available on cassette (for now!) so we appreciate that not every record shop will be able to commit to supporting this one. But either way - if you haven't already, please take a second to check the back catalog of BKV though, which we've included below. As we said already, there are worlds to be found within.
