Acronym delivers his latest EP ‘Millennial Lowlife’ via Benthic this July, comprised of four originals from the Swedish artist.

Across the past decade, Dan Vicente aka Acronym has been unveiling his twist on murky, hypnotic Techno via the likes of Semantica Records, Northern Electronics, and of course, his own Stilla Ton imprint, showcasing a more esoteric and experimental approach to the genre and steadily rising to prominence as a driving force for the Swedish Techno scene. Here we see him joining the roster of Benthic following its inaugural release back in September 2021 from Lucid Void.

Title-track ‘Millennial Lowlife’ opens up the project and perfectly sets the tone with subtly unfurling atmospherics, gnarly bass stabs, and modulating synths atop a low-slung, driving rhythm. ‘Albanova’ then tips the focus over to an ambient tip, merging metallic arpeggio chimes with pulsating dub swells and tension-building textures. ‘Vertical Garden’ opens the flip side and leans towards a more electro-tinged aesthetic courtesy of squelchy acid bleeps, crunchy drums, and ethereal pads before ‘Flashing Led’ rounds out the release, once again returning to an ambient feel with cinematic strings, meandering sub-bass tones, and shuffled percussion throughout.

Another strong collaboration for Stately Records as they celebrate their third release, together with Swiss Dub Techno wizard Alessandro Crimi. Already producing music for over 20 years from his headquarters in Baden, Switzerland Alessandro is playing a big part in the development of the beautiful sound of Dub Techno. Besides his own productions he is the founder of the label Waehlscheibe, which has seen 10 vinyl releases and celebrate their 10th anniversary this year. Also anno 2022 there is a lot of magic coming from his hands, with a recent sold out record on Etui Records, and more in the future he will be part of a great VA coming out on Roger Gerressen’s Irenic. His work for Stately Records is once again a super diverse ep, with music for every mood. 2 cuts for the dancefloor, with ‘Transcendent’ sending us on an extended melancholic trip & ‘The Space Between Everything’ being the more uplifting work. Besides that, both sides are accompanied by 2 experimental cuts. On the A-side we find the amazing ambient work ‘When Darkness Turns into Light’ and on the B-side the title track ‘Moonward’, a fast paced, bass heavy track which shows no mercy.

Altone has been on our radar for quite some time now, following his progress with releases on fellow dub labels ETUI, Greyscale, Hello Strange, Ranges, SPCLNCH, Apnea and Cold Tear. We were presented with these cuts of dub over a year ago, waiting for the right opportunity to release these weapons upon the world, a world ready for change, thought, progress and understanding. Altone presents three cuts of pure deep dub. Altone presents Effuse, Slight Pain and Grain. Choosing the right person to do justice with a remix was a difficult process. We scoured the planet to find the right producer to compliment and do honor to the beautiful original that is Effuse. A man no stranger to our family, we welcome Upwellings for his debut on Primary [colours]. Upwellings remix takes the elements of the original and fuses them together with a hypnotic, low end driven masterpiece. A track for the early mornings, among the late night warriors. 2021 is the start of a new chapter and Primary [colours] is pleased to be back presenting tunes of depth and feeling to the new world. Expect more.

There's a beautifully symmetrical aesthetic to the latest Lempuyang release that totally mirrors the impeccably positioned and delicately balanced sounds going on in the grooves. Two of the most consistent producers of the last few years - Altone and Gradient - produce creatively related tracks, the former named 'Day Drama' and the latter taking on 'Night Drama'. Then they hand their respective tracks over to each other for remixing duties and bingo, a pretty vital 12" is created, a gorgeous set of shimmering dubs on the A-side, and some heavyweight business for dark rainy nights on the flip. Both producers employ a modern day dub flavour to their minimal, moody techno, with it probably being fair to say that the influence of Maurizio and the Basic Channel label is fairly significant in the worlds of both. Altone's sound is a little grittier and seemingly fizzing with radioactivity, decaying and disintegrating as each offering proceeds, where there's something a bit more spartan and linear about Gradient's grooves, that seem to undulate and reverberate almost invisibly, propelling these exceptionally mixable, enjoyable DJ tools along almost under their own momentum. Nice work all round.

After two utterly essential releases on ae Recordings and Primary Colours in 2021, Altone once more delivers the goods for Lempuyang. The label's eighth release brings together two of the most respected heads in the business on remix duties. Altone's deep & pulsing title track Vortex gets Yagya's glacial treatment on side A. Customization on the flip gets a Bluetrain rework; Steve's trademark Special Edition Dub giving the track a dancefloor edge.

There's seemingly no end to the mind-blowing vaults of UK tech house titan Mark Ambrose. Even after the extensive three-volume run of reissues on Repeats, Rawax have found more of the South Coast legend's late 90s material that hasn't been reissued yet. Sharks be damned, the Cat Groove 12" is back within reach and remastered to bring the best out of the tracks. The title track is one of those artfully squashed, funk loop-riding jams that turns the heat up without any need for studio showboating - just the right ingredients. 'Floating Around' is a heady tripper crying out for the morning, while 'Hook Up' finds another soulful lick to place at the centre of a groove so crunchy it just has to come from an MPC. Hold tight for 'Warehouse Blues', which injects some nasty, pumping techno energy into the mix with a metallic bassline that comes on like Mr Fingers dipped in chrome.

Mcmlxv welcomes back Analog~1 for a third outing here. It is an alias of JS Zeiter and one that is reserved more for esoteric and electronica tracks following notable outings on labels such as Furthur Electronix, Meandyou and We're Going Deep. 'Mirage' kicks off with melancholic pads and dubby chords over crisp minimal drums that sink you into a reverie. That vibe continues through 'Virtual' and 'Haunted' which care both sophisticated atmospheres with subtle electro-tinged rhythms and quietly emotive pads. 'Solano' closes down with another icy and cavernous space that is filled with meaningful synth craft to make for another classy EP.

Angel delivers a new dub techno EP, ?Sous l?eau?, on the in Stuttgart-based label Amas_Studio. The EP unveils 4 dub techno tracks including a remix by the Amas crew and Estrato Aurora. it is a deep journey through and under the water of her mind and soul. listen and swim through her sound of berlin streets. The original versions of ?Particule I? and ?Particule II? highlight a contemporary vision of dub techno, boasting some vocals and deep layers, while being aligned to the broader dub techno genre. Amas Remix provides a singular vision of ?Particule II?, with reverbs and harmonics that are more electronica-oriented, while the version of Spanish producer Estrato Aurora, working exclusively on analog instruments, unveils a deeper and more atmospheric touch.

Scottish Techno wizard Astro joins Piff Records on their landmark tenth release, with 5 cosmic and groovy belters.

Having recently found success with his own Neptune Discs imprint and regularly performing up and down the country, Astro has firmly established himself as one to watch in the techno sphere. Opening with the title track, Astro combines a relentless bassline with dubbed-out chords and spacey leads. Echoing space-age soundscapes and futuristic sounds of 70s kosmische musik and 90s techno, Astro makes good on the aesthetic promised by his artist name.

Astro brings down the tempo for the hypnotic Cloned Substance. A mesmerising hat pattern combines with delay-drenched leads and a bouncy bassline to create a track intent on capturing the listener in a state of trance.

Thunderstorm adheres to the tried-and-tested Astro combination of a thick bassline, spacey stabs, and continuously evolving drums. As to be expected, the results are spectacular. Irresistible grooves and rich soundscapes are the order of the day as Astro delivers once again.

A haunting and proggy FM-lead acts as the foundation for Pluto, underpinned by a sub-heavy kick and tranquil chords. The meditative ebb and flow of various elements masterfully expresses the solitude of the track’s namesake.

Planetary Blitz closes the EP as a digital bonus track. Expanding on the spaced-out motifs of the previous track (as reflected in the track title), Astro substitutes chord stabs and warm basslines for a driving blend of punchy kicks and a subtle glittery guitar.

For the second release, the Swiss Label present a classic Dub techno track produced by AudioChain (A duo composed by the Label owner Brenno Della Vecchia and his friend Luca Gaggetti). A timeless track with a deeper groove born directly from the Alps!

The remix otherwise, is a faster interpretation remixed by the Dub techno producer from S. Francisco, Federsen. A wonderful relaxed track full of details able to bring you inside Kelly's rhythm.

An Apparition introduces the hazy feeling of the EP with a thundering kick, dubbed-out chords, and a mysterious vocal sample topped off with a funky 303 interlude. The A2 track CoupCoup builds the late night suspense with looming strings and chords driven by deep, groove-soaked percussion. The final track, It’s You, summarizes the EP’s concept with a mesmerizing exploration through propulsive percussion, deep bass and immersive, evolving chords. Drawing from a substantial archive of equipment, knowledge and experience, Mike McClure and Craig Lambert’s approach to production results in modern music that remains true to old school sounds, methods and ideologies. Babe Roots & Another Channel join forces with Danish label Echocord with four dubbed out cuts titled, ‘Takeover’. Turin based artist, Babe Roots’ catalogue has seen a steady growth since he started out in 2016 with releases on French label Linear Movement, Portland dub label ZamZam Sounds and Rohs! Records. ‘Takeover’ sees him team up with Another Channel, an up and coming German producer with records on Transient Audio and Modern Hypnosis. After a successful summer for Echocord with albums from Silent Harbour aka Conforce and Idealist, the label continues 2018 with consistently intriguing output from artists across the electronic music spectrum. ‘Takeover (intro)’ kicks off the pack by delivering a minute of spaced-out, dub-tinged atmospheres to ease you in. ‘Can’t See’ then provides a pitched-down, meditative ambience peppered with deep, sedative reggae drums, calming synth flutters and an enchanting vocal. Next, ‘Money Run Things’ sustains the mellow moods, spirited chants and stirring flourishes of dubby vibrations. To finish, ‘Get You Down’ offers a meditative, dropped- tempo dub-techno track – with sound system culture, dispersed grooves and undulating minimalism becoming the main focus here.

Following the success of last years Babe Roots EP, Echocord revisits the package with reworks from Forest Drive West, Mike Schommer, Felix K, DB1 and Babe Roots themself. London’s DB1 leads the package with his take on ‘Work Hard’, a mostly beatless interpretation fuelled by oscillating white noise, winding dub chords and snippets of the original’s dub reggae vocals. Hidden Hawai’s Felix K then ups the energy levels with a high-octane take on ‘Sufferation Time’, driven by upfront, shuffled and distorted drums and unfaltering, tension building dub swells.

IRENICSPC002 brings us two new tracks by Bas Amro, best known for his releases on Freerange Records and Wolfskuil Records. For this EP he takes an unusual straight-forward approach; ‘Chained’ is a driving dub track with beautiful chords, while ‘Nearing’ leans towards the deeper side of the techno spectrum. With both tracks being very suitable for the dancefloor, the b-side finds label boss Roger Gerressen changing pace, delivering a remix for the early hours.

Donato Dozzy, Marco Shuttle and Ultrastation are among the names on these great remix package on the trustworthy SoHaSo label. After two well received EP's -Laren and Zl2- Bas Dobbelaer and Vand asked a few like-minded spirits to reset the dials of some of their best work. With their melancholic, melodic and highly detailed techno-infused productions, the two Dutch producers carved a name for themselves over the last four years. Italian producer Donato Dozzy takes Transit (a track from 2019) into a lush, green forrest. Where dew water is still dripping from the trees while string-like melodies slowly swirl around them. Beautiful stuff. Gal Tsadok-Hai takes a similar path, though his take on Gateway to Gaia is a bit gloomier. Dusk is setting in and so is melancholia. Same goes for Marco Shuttles version of Reflect, a track from 2021. The London-based Italian producer left out kickdrums and basslines, settling instead for a feverish percussion-infused meditation. Once on the flipside, the club vibe truly kicks in. With a minimalist, bassline heavy remix by Shoal of Story of Blade and an equally effective techno remake from Ultrastation, who turns Runner into a hypnotic peak time monster.

It remained unexplored, but the Professor's inquisitive mind wanted to understand the discovery that could change the future.

Khaliphonic 11 is a truly epic release from one of our most prolific artists, Brendon Moeller AKA Echologist, AKA Beat Pharmacy. In just the last two years, Moeller has released on labels as varied as Echocord, Silent Season, Kynant, and Rohs!, to name only the most well-known. Recognized globally for a singularly organic and dubwise approach to techno, we are proud to have a close working relationship with an artist who coaxes humanity and warmth from machines like few others. The Dub Purpose EP is one of his finest achievements.

Te Puke Thunder is one of New Zealand’s oldest and most sought after cannabis strains. Hailing from the volcanic regions of New Zealand, Te Puke Thunder is prized for its larger buds and higher potency. Gaining popularity in the 70s, the polyploid plant succeeded in becoming a well renowned strain and was notably displayed in a number of Amsterdam coffee shops. New Zealand authorities believe they have successfully wiped out the majority, if not all, possible trails for the whereabouts of the venerable strain. Some believe there may not be a single seed left with the unmatched genetics of the original Te Puke Thunder strain. The Mysticisms label welcomes Coral D aka Duncan Stump for a debut outing here that marks the first new music to be part of the ongoing and most excellent Dubplate series. This artist has a long history of crafting "deep dub electronic swing" in his roles in Mock & Toof, FX Mchm and his 6000 Degrees project. This one finds him bringing some dub reggae influences as 'Dissolves' is built on a chugging rhythm with smeared chords. 'DR 55' is then a masterfully laidback digi-dub groove that warps space and time and so leaves you utterly hypnotised.
