Contrived through a pure spawn of friendship and boundless exploration, Sin Limites began as a jam between Nap, Ex-Terrestrial & Roza Terenzi in Montreal 2018 with no intentions. After a reshape and polish from Priori it found its way back to demolish dancefloors, slipping into mixes over the years and standing the test of time; a micro reissue of sorts finding a home on Delicate Records with a pair of remixes from none other than Ambien Baby & D. Tiffany to keep things in the chosen family. The title track is simple yet bold in nature; daring hypnotic metallic sequence, original Spanish vocals laced throughout by Nap and rough ‘n’ rugged 606 drums; a master in exquisite nuance and tech-evolution. Dormant until 2021, the B side rose from the ashes via the remixes to anoint the record as a three part ode to No Limits; a timeless ethos shared and lived amongst all involved.

Vinyl Colour IS Transparent Amber! The friendship between Al Cisneros (Sleep/Om) and Kevin Martin (The Bug/King Midas Sound) begun when King Midas Sound supported OM at the Scala in London in 2012. Subsequently the duo quickly realised via passionately animated conversations, that they shared a serous addiction to reggae 7", and in particular, a mutually insatiable appetite for roots and the deepest dub versions being consistently transmitted from Jamaica...This resulted in Cisneros, then inviting Martin to specifically drop hardcore dub sessions as support to Sleep in Berlin, and on tour with OM. It was during the European Om tour in 2019, that Cisneros offered to record an ep for The Bug's fledgling Pressure label. And now 'Rosin' is the fulfilment of that promise. Al's side of the single, showcases the low end specialist extending the bassbin pounding methodologies of those incredible b-line masters who first inspired him to relentlessly explore the infinitely resonant worlds of bass and space. So 'Rosin Immersion' and it's subsequent dub 'Dabby You', echo 'Flabba Holt's classic work with the Roots Radics or Robbie Shakespeare 's tremendous output for Channel One with The Revolutionaries...These devastating mixes extend the hallowed roots tradition that Cisneros worships, and gleefully opts for an even lower, slower, grind .... It's another fantastic example of Al's parallel dub world, that he has been tirelessly promoting with his incredible Sinai label releases for the past few years, as he simultaneously continues to reshape Metal with Sleep and zoned 'out' rock with Om too. On the flipside, Martin took up Al's invitation to remix his original song, but Kevin here opts for radical mutation instead of homage. What may have begun as a single remix, ends as two militantly distinct future dubs aimed straight at the body and dome...Echoing Kevin's recent collaborations with Will Bevan aka Burial, for their collaborative Flame series, as previously released on Pressure, this pair of thundering tracks reflect The Bug at his most immersive and psychedelic. 'Fathoms' and '50 hz' revel in their otherness, and the sonic sorcery of his Brussels based sound lab. The twin rhythms are undoubtedly inspired by the spirit of The Bug's production heroes Scientist, King Tubby or Adrian Sherwood, but are set adrift in a futuristic sci-fi format for ambient heads and sound system disciples alike to get fully lost in.

The fourth instalment on Berlin-based Savy Records comes courtesy of Farron, a Bavarian producer, live act and founder of the Shaw Cuts label. 'Sparking In Silence' is his first outing on Savy and demonstrates a meeting of minds between the two imprints, with both Farron and Savy founder IDA sharing a similar musical ethos and aesthetic. Across the versatile and dynamic four-track EP, Farron displays his intuitive production skills, wielding techno, breaks, and clever, creative rhythms to craft moments that stretch across a night-long journey in the club. 'Sparking In Silence' opens with 'Artura', a raw and moody analogue old-school Berghain banger, boasting addictive, crispy 909 hi-hats designed to elevate and invigorate the dance floor. 'Radioactive Sepp' takes on a gorgeous, groove-laden tone, with squelchy synths and a punctuated rhythm. On the flip side, the mood is peak emotive and epitomises the Savy label sound, with 'Home As Wide' gliding on sublime pads and intoxicating breaks. Raw Takes offers up exactly that - perfectly imperfect electro jams direct from his machines. We last heard from him here at Juno back in 2020 on a VA via the Sample Delivery label but here he takes charge of all six cuts on this new Zement EP. '901 Area' opens with wobbly sheet metal synths and zippy pads that eventually coalesce around a nice snappy electro breakbeat. 'Sxx' pairs ambient pads with machine gun laser fire and 'jms' then brings a more deep and reverential viber. The rich variation continues on the flip so that there is everything from tripped-out acid to hard-hitting and ear-drum-shattering electro-tech.

We've been writing new material as a trio since the first lockdown in the spring of 2020.
An organic and electro-acoustic impulse that translates both mine and Eliete's need of self-archiving,
re-inventing and auto-cannibalising Tetine's past, present and
future in order to explore other aural
landscapes and modes of composing intuitively, while at the same time, re-experiencing moments of our
trajectory as a hybrid organism.

Music For Breathing was born as a respiratory, meditative, and improvisatory piece of DIY
tropical-mutant-punk "chamber music" written for cello, voice, piano, organ and electronics.
The work responds to the suspended acts of breathing and vertigos experienced in contemporary polluted
environments in political, social and philosophical transitions, whilst investigating the
secret ontologies of inanimate objects and architectures, as well
as the echoes and ethics of modes of operating things.

Recorded during the intense period of heatwaves that hit London between July and August 2022, in
a small studio set up in our flat's kitchen - so that we could capture the acoustic instrumentation
(in particular, for the recording of cellos) without much
noise interference from the street -
this vinyl version of the album comprises of 5 distinct yet complementary reflective movements.

Musically and lyrically, it explores the atmospherics and syntaxes of time and space, voice, rhythm,
as well as themes such as hearing loss, menopause, pollution and respiration. It builds an expanded suite of unexpected
electro-acoustic textures through repetition, minimalistic motives, simple melodies, chromatic
developments, free counterpoint and atonalism. Conceived as an ode to the poetics of slowness,
the sounds you hear give continuity to the music we composed for the performance-film
The Ether - Prelude No.1 over the first lockdown in 2020 as it simultaneously explores the warmth,
melodiousness and power of the cello in conjunction with electronics.
Music For Breathing evokes this transitory moment: a place and time where language runs out,
communication and information lose their functions, sound and meaning do not correspond. Facts do not correspond to contexts. Spaced Out in Paradise. The last degree of the structure, the
loss of memory. The lost voice.

The album also features our 12-year-old daughter Yoko Afi on cello and vocals. It reflects
a period of free sound experimentation influenced both by romantic composers of the late
19th / early 20th centuries and contemporary electronic music. The pieces you hear were composed, arranged, and recorded
with the joy and melancholy of "those who do not know". In other words, "with the arrogance
of a second childhood" as Derek Jarman once put it. 'Agile and candid as a child'(1).

NYC based singer, multi instrumentalist and prolific producer Heidi Sabertooth brings her experimental and grungy sound to the fore, with a fierce EP examining the grainiest textures in dance music. It's been over three years since she brought her unique brand of raw techno to the underground, and now Heidi deepens her relationship between art and modern-day living in a blend of controlled chaos.

Opening track 'Screaming Into The Abyss' does exactly that, with its use of muddled voices and melancholic allure, glued loosely together with vintage acid and the producer's deep love of hardware. There's a playfulness to follow up 'Slide Into My DM', Heidi's elements seemingly communicating telepathically in a game of mutant-chess. Grooves and otherworldly dynamics flux and spill while splashes of reverb make it anything but predictable.

B side opener 'Pissed' maintains this raw aesthetic, sounding both mechanical and free-flowing with its foreboding melodies, melting between heavy bass and screeching pads; remaining functional but full of beautiful, unconventional touches. The record comes to a close with title track 'Insane In The Cat Brain' a disorientated affair encapsulating the restlessness and uncertainty of our times, spearheaded by an artist never afraid to take risks.

Over the course of the year, the label has assembled four different compositions reflecting each artist's devotion and fascination for synthesizers and drum machines. We are very proud to present you the third release on Schatzimusik with the reissue of the much sought after I.B.M. – Computer Love 12″ inch and an unreleased track and a remix. For this release we have teamed up with none other than Dario di Pace & Raffelle Arcella from Naples, better known as Mystic Jungle and Whodamanny. The two have done numerous remixes for very well-known Italo-Disco songs. For this remix, they have delivered a brilliant reinterpretation of Computer Love. Rhythmic, driving, funky and playful, they put Computer Love in a new light. The release is rounded off with the previously unknown track “Metropolis” and the long version of “Computer Love”. A little background info on the original vinyl. Thomas Waver & Rudi Raders the two originators of the group I.B.M. emigrated to Alicante (Spain) in the 80s. They stored the records of Computer Love in the attic of Thomas’ aunt. Unfortunately, she died, and the attic was dissolved along with the records. So, the original vinyl is unfortunately a rarely seen item.

Born and raised in the heart of the French Alps, and now residing in Paris, DJ Physical's sound is one of a harsh romance. Perhaps it was the beauty and serenity of the snow-covered mountain tops and the ferocious nature of French techno moulding together that spawned his 'Raw Poetry' aesthetic; an emotive blend of dark and light that feels like it could belong in concert halls and theatres as well as underground sex clubs.

Following an outing on Lobster Theremin's recent various artist fundraiser for Ukraine, and appearances on Rinse France and Running Out Of Steam, the Parisian local serves up five deadly cuts of brooding electro and techno. 'Not So Human' delivers the influence of trance on the contemporary techno soundscape, but doesn't over-do it. Trance-licked, not dominated, the uncompromising cut of wave-driven techno is the perfect accompaniment for when you want to take things up a notch. 'Sex Club' maintains DJ Physicals' fascination with 'Raw Poetry' - brimming with breaks-driven breakdowns, spinetingling atmospherics and low-pressure basslines that highlight the variety of influence the emerging producer brings to the table.

Acid synth-lines and lively trance-inspo create an altogether lighter mood as we flip the record on 'Mortal Dance', before 'Easy Dancer' changes its tune altogether with a pounding cut of progressive, freaky electronica.

Closing the release is 'Go Further' - misty electro, Southern-trap samples and those distinctive, high-culture ambient interludes creating a sense of emotive mystery. A well-rounded release with plenty of left-turns, this is DJ Physical's 'Raw Poetry' at its finest.

Key info about the artist:

His next release will be on Hessle Audio and then Nervous Horizons. His first release was a digital EP through All Centre.
Toumba is one of the creative minds behind Mnfa, Jordan's most important underground music venue. He serves there as a booker and curator, bringing the likes of Tsvi, Giant Swan and Parrish Smith to the venue.
He is also anationally respected artist and holds a residency at the Mmag Foundation in Amman. The foundation works with a selection of the most gifted artists in the Levant. By sponsoring Toumba's ongoing artistic practice, Mmag has furthered his research into Levantine music, which he synthesises with avant garde and electronic music.
He is a resident on Movement Radio in Athens and formerly Ma3azef Radio, with guests including Ben UFO, aya and Gabber Eleganza.

About the release:

Welcome to Bm-18 the biokinetic realm created by Dana Kuehr, a lush audio environment where organic and synthesized matter coalesce. As we float disembodied above this verdant pixel plain, Dana offers us shifting repetitions and sequences in disguise, each track a landscape within a world created in the utmost detail, from the minute bleeps and chirps to the enveloping and bumping bouncy basslines. Flickering drums explode like dandelion seeds in a breeze, searching for a place to lay, grow, and flourish. Sounds are captured (fingers tapping, rain patter, Belgian parakeets released from a '70s zoo, vocal oohs and ahhs) and hybridized with patterns, samples, and musical manoeuvres (jungle breaks, west coast hip hop, layered drums, IDM crunch and twinkle, reverb, delay, '90s R&B, underwater video game soundscapes). As in any imaginary sphere, there are characters who exchange and converse: rivers, coasts, clouds, lakes, echoes of dolphins, and peaceful frogs. Amidst their complex chatter, the sounds of Bm-18 extend an invitation to dance, to feel our bodies alive and present, to acknowledge the impulse of movement and the pulsing heartbeats of each track. An ode to the Taoist consideration that all creatures live together in mystic unity, co-evolving and feeding each other, Dana brings together cloud ethereal with earth pounding, and like an orca's tail upon a restless sea, it slaps!!! All tracks written and produced by Dana Kuehr between April 2020 and November 2021 in Brussels, and mixed by Dan Piu at Checkpoint Charly Studio in Zurich between November 2021 and March 2022. Mastered and cut by Stefan Betke at Scape in Berlin. Original artworks by Camiflage and text by Ailsa Cavers. A1 was first digitally released on Ojoo Music. Gladio Operations presents its sixth work, in which it returns to the format of various artists. In this third compilation tilted “The Analog Theory” we encounter various renowned producers from the electro scene in Europe. This EP opens with the French producer Jauzas The Shining, with a fantastic track titled “Traveling Light” where we can hear his classic dark and hypnotic sound in all his productions. Next up, we meet an old acquaintance of the label the spanish producer Univac returns again showing off their forceful and aggressive rhythms, entering once again into more industrial territories. Behind the spatial pseudonym of the Parisian producer Adrien Erra hides an overflowing energy and a two-faceted music, rhythmic and aerial, and as well influenced by the house of Detroit as by balearic house inspirations of Ibiza. In 2016, he participated in the creation of the label Pont Neuf Records where he signed three first tracks on the Habemus Paname compilations of the label. Hoshina Anniversary offers a new LP of fluid, alchemical dance music in the shape of Hisyochi, on Impatience. Moving well beyond the initial influence of jazz fusion, electronica and his Japanese heritage, Hoshina Anniversary continues to carve deeper into his own cosm, and Hisyochi arguably represents this prolific producer at his most singular, refined and potent yet.

With nowhere to go and little to do, Hoshina was making music at a seemingly unstoppable torrent throughout the pandemic, sometimes sketching close to 100 tracks in any given month. Opening up a session from a previous track, he would erase all but one element, using it as a starting point for a completely new experiment, lending the body of work a subtle yet tangible coherence. Hisyochi was pieced together from a swathe of productions that came out of a particularly fertile period in the first half of 2021, which also birthed his recent release on Patience, Hyakunin Isshu.

Roughly translating to “somewhere cool to relax during a hot summer” according to Hoshina, Hisyochi transcends seasons but undoubtedly runs hot. Drum patterns are crisp, varied and invariably body-moving, basslines ascend at vertigo-inducing velocity, and dimly-lit jazz-bar piano is often the only element anchoring the sound to terra firma.

Following the plaintive, palette cleansing introduction of Rakka, Irahu plots the course with a light arpeggiator over a chugging rhythm before a warbly piano line to creeps in the back door. Misebayana is a jolt of gyrating mutant dance, part video game suspense and part footwork for drums and koto, while Kokoro no Heisei (Peace Of Mind) sees Hoshina deliver a salvo to stillness over a meandering, dubby spacewalk. Roman is an invigorating cut of warped dancehall tango, while the closing title track perfectly encapsulates the essence of the record and Hoshina Anniversary in 2022 in one elegant, acidic rinse.

Hoshina Anniversary is Yoshinobu Hoshina, from Hachioji, outside of Tokyo. He’s released records as Hoshina Anniversary on ESP Institute, Alien Jams and Youth, under his Suemori moniker for Osare! Editions and as Shifting Gears for Toucan Sounds, amongst others.

Hisyochi was written, produced and mixed by Hoshina Anniversary. It was mastered by Josh Bonati in NYC, and artwork is by Luca Schenardi.

I met Thomas Roussel in 2017 at a Pigalle fashion show in Paris. As always with Stéphane Ashpool, the designer of Pigalle, casting is perfect and the clothes are modern and groundbreaking. But my eyes and ears were intrigued by this retro-futuristic instrument next to me, the Cristal Baschet. French composer and conductor Thomas Roussel wrote the soundtrack of the show. He add this magnificent instrument in his "not very classical" orchestra, this is what I immediately loved with him! He invited us into his world of classical music with a fresh twist, simplicity and audacity. At the same time I was scratching my head to find something different to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Ed Banger records. For a long time I had this idea of mixing both electronic and classical music together. Exactly like my heroes Metallica did in 1999 with the Symphonic orchestra of San Francisco! Thomas Roussel seems the perfect man for this crazy idea. We did Ed Banger 15 together and we became friends. Thomas Roussel grew up in Dijon, spent his days at the conservatory and his nights at L’An-Fer, one of the most respected Techno club in France. Probably the reason why he ended up working with Jeff Mills, on two projects mixing Jeff’s 909 and a classical orchestra. By experimenting new ways of using an orchestra, by creating state-of-the-art scenography and producing more ambitious music he quickly became the man in charge of everything "classica". The list of his collaborations is too long and will ruin this little introduction. It could sounds like this : Chanel, Apple, Cartier, Kenzo, Nike, Dior. Performing from Paris to Macau, from Monte Carlo to Dubai and from New York to Beijing! In 2017 Thomas Roussel released his first album as Prequell with Universal Music. A successful collaboration that really allows Thomas Roussel to become an artist. In 2022 Ed Banger records is proud to release Thomas Roussel "late Metal" a 3 tracks EP. Where uplifting orchestration and electronic music composing collide. The perfect soundtrack of a block buster movie mixing George Lucas & Christopher Nolan generations. Ever since he made his first trip to Japan to DJ, Optimo Music founder JD Twitch has been bewitched by Japanese music, and particularly the vibrant, imaginative, and often far-sighted sounds which emerged from the island nation during the 1980s. Now he’s put years of digging in Japanese record shops to good use on Polyphonic Cosmos, the latest release on his compilation-focused Cease & Desist imprint.

Subtitled ‘A Beginners Guide to Japan In The ‘80s’, the collection offers a personal selection of Japanese gems recorded and released between 1981 and ’86 – a period when advances in recording and musical technology offered the nation’s artists and producers a whole new tool kit to employ. When combined with the unique musical culture of Japan, where local traditions are frequently fused with Western styles to create timeless, off-kilter aural fusions, this embrace of locally pioneered music technology had spectacular, often unusual results.

Eight years in the making, Polyphonic Cosmos provides an endlessly entertaining musical snapshot of Japanese music of the early-to-mid ‘80s with all of the open-minded eclecticism and sonic twists that you would expect from the Glasgow-based DJ.

Compare and contrast, for example, the gently breezy, morning-fresh folk-plus-electronics bliss of ‘ばら二曲 Baranikyoku (Fellini&Rota)’ by World Standard – the most familiar alias of long-serving musician/producer Sohichiro Suzuki – and the hallucinatory, slow-motion tribal rhythms, post-punk rhythms and tape delay-laden electronics of Imitation’s ‘Exotic Dance’. Or, for that matter, the tipsy mid-‘80s electronic reggae of Pecker’s ‘Sha La La’, the grungy but melodic post-punk strut of ‘You Go On Natural’ by Earthling (a track Twitch accurately describes as “sheer unrelenting groove”), and the unearthly, swirling sonics, new age instrumentation and flotation tank vocals of prolific (and seemingly mysterious) act Geinoh Yamashirogumi’s ‘Rimme Kohkyogaku Meiki’.

It’s a credit to JD Twitch’s curatorial skills that the quality never dips, and sonic surprises lurk around every corner. Consider for a moment the hard to describe, far-sighted audio immersion of D-Day’s ‘Ki-Ra’ – all languid post-pop guitar, enveloping chords, spoken word vocals, shuffling 808 beats and marimba melodies – and the two contributions from video games soundtrack specialist (and driving instrumental synth-pop specialist) Hiroyuki Namba.

The collection naturally includes some selections that have long been favourites in Twitch’s DJ sets – see Masumi Hara’s ‘Your Dream’ – as well as a handful of tracks from artists who may be more recognisable to those with only rudimentary knowledge of Japanese musical culture. The great Yasuaki Shimizu, whose work as Mariah has become far better known in recent years thanks to reissues of some of his most magical albums, is represented via ‘The Crow’, a picturesque chunk of horizontal, hard-to-define jazz-not-jazz smokiness, while the collection fittingly concludes with a sublimely funky, oddball electronic workout from Yellow Magic Orchestra legend Ryuichi Sakamoto (the frankly incredible ‘Wongga Dance Song’).

When Isa Gordon sent the demo of this album to me I knew I wanted to release it before I had got half way through it. I had previously released her super good Resili collaborative project but I wasn’t quite prepared for how good this was going to be. Isa is patently a once in a blue moon talent and I feel honoured to help get her unique, visionary sounds out into the world. I started seeing a lot of beats and motifs that I’d been working on working together as a collection and spent a few months compiling, completing, mixing and weaving together the tracks into a coherent album. Dmitry is one of the new talents asserting himself and one of the most promising on the European Electro scene, having worked with renowned labels such as Craigie Knowes and Hilltown Disco, among others. On his Gladio debut, Larionov gifts us with ‘Lost Alien’ an EP permeating with well-constructed electro sounds, where ‘Lost In Space’, an awesome energetic track, opens the pack. ‘Lost In Space’ is accompanied by an additional remix by the owners of the UHF label, on which they delve into EBM terrain, offering a contrasting approach to the original cut. On the B side, we encounter ‘Alien Friend’ whereupon we perceive compact and well-moulded sounds, accompanied by an aggressive bassline, very characteristic in the productions of the Russian artist. The EP closes with ‘System Error’, a wild and powerful track that will no doubt stimulate your sets in any demanding club.
