The batteries are charged again! After an adequate summer break the Fortunea Records crew continues its mission to bring out extraordinary compositions with a brand-new EP by Moff & Tarkin. The Icelander is currently living in Vienna and presents on this record his multi-variant taste in music. Poems of Soy starts with the cinematic opener ‚Sting’. Playful arpeggio synths dive headfirst into an hypnotic shuffle beat which is companied with siren-seeming vocals from the distance. The follow up ‚Love or Something‘ takes that groove and expands it with more pressure and a snappy baseline.

The B-side starts with an acid injected rave bomb called ‚Dating on LinkedIn‘. A track of sublime quality featuring 909 driven beats merged with acid bass lines. And with ‚Great Tan‘ M&T takes us back to the glory days of the big beat movement. Poems of Soy will come out on the 30th September 2022 in its digital form and later also as limited vinyl record.

And as always this release has been mastered by Cheap-veteran Patrick Pulsinger. Don’t sleep on this!

Klaus Benedek delivers once again with an excellent 12″ mastered by Vienna’s own Patrick Pulsinger. Out of the gate there is „Calm Before The Storm“; an extraordinary piece of music exceeding a 9 minute journey, which bundles the sound of current deep house with a twerking breakbeat rhythm. The track takes its time and builds up to a smooth string chorus that certainly gives you goosebumps. The flip side on the other hand stays more traditionally in the house sector. Nick Hanzo came in contact with turntableism 14 year ago, during a study semester in Madrid. Back in Vienna he had to get his own vinyl decks and started to practice, play and organize monthly soirees called do.phunk. Over the years Hanzo became an integral part of the Viennese electronic music scene, founding club nights like Schmusesalon or the audio visual collective Wiener Endorphine. He organized parties across the whole city, in venues like Grelle Forelle, Pratersauna, Sass or Celeste and showed his dj skillz on even more occasions. Besides numerous actions, he recently established the label Belly Dance Services with his buddy Yaman and they released the EP “Sirisins” as “Hanzo & Yaman”. After Nick’s summer debut on the fortunea 10 compilation with the track „Veni Vide“, he returns with his first solo ep called „Last Day, Miracle!“ ~ because where there is great love, there will always be miracles.

One of the key ﬁgures in the Austrian house scene is deﬁnitely Roman Rauch. The MPC wizard has released quality tracks on cult labels like Philpot, klamauk, Quintessentials, Dirt Crew and Faces Records during this decade.

After 3 remixes and a collaboration with Precious K as Twinpeaks, he will return this autumn on the Viennese based imprint fortunea with a 5 track ep, called Blackout.

The A-side features the title track and a remix by New York’s Let’s Play House chief Jacques Renault. Roman delivers here his typical signature sound of crackling, dustﬁlled funk and r&b samples in combination with weighty rhythm sections. Jacques’ take is from it’s mood similar. But what stands out here is the addition of congas and a heavy compressed and funky bassline, that puts the danceﬂoor into a tribal gathering.

The Austrian electronic music label fortunea starts off the new decade with a bang! This time they come up with a new EP by label fellow Peletronic.

It’s called ‚Secret Escape‘ and begins with the raw and energetic title track, that is driven by MPC-style melody chops and a grooving bassline. Definitely a lot of peak time potential here. The original track is accompanied by a remix of charismatic Australian dj- and producer Jad & The, who transforms it into an euphoric deep house weapon with funky breaks and analogue infused acid sequences.

The first track of the B-side is setting up a darker mood. It’s called „My House Is Your House“ and comes up with spaced out elements that complement each other into a late night/early morning club atmosphere. Voice- and effect artefacts sprinkle through the listeners head, while kick and bassline are holding everything together. Jon Gravy makes the remix dutys on B2 and delivers a stomping alternative to the original. A funky reverberant guitar, a staccato male vocal and high pitched piano stabs gives you back these feellings of mid 1990s chicago house memories.

All in all a must have house record for this upcoming festival season. Don’t miss out!

fortunea starts their 2021 release schedule with a new 4 tracker this february. Peletronic is featured on this record and he shows again his love for detail. ‚About The Void‘ is a composition with an arc of suspense. The eerie pads and strings are in control by an imposing hypnotic groove that will guide the listener to the dancefloor. As a guest remixer they hired none other than Stuttgart’s deep house expert Soulphiction. His take on the title track is placed on A2 and uses the elements of the original in a clever way. The groove is even more thrilling. And a female vocalist gives the track a femme fatale like character. Peletronic delivers us his lo-fi house ‚Experience‘ on the B-side. Of course with a typical 909 kick drum, shuffled hihats and a purposely raw filtered jazz sample in loop. Intriguingly and playful likewise. At last the record ends with the track ‚Paixão‘, which means „passion“ in portuguese. And you can clearly hear his passion for experimental latin influenced dub house in here.
