Hells Headbangers is proud to present a long-overdue reissue of Unlord’s cult third album, Lord of Beneath. Formed in 1989, Unlord are widely considered among the Netherlands’ very first black metal bands, if not THE first. Although they never publicly released any demos, their three albums for the sorely missed Displeased Records – 1997’s Schwarzwald, 2000’s Gladiator, and 2002’s Lord of Beneath – stand as a nigh-untouchable trio of freezing-fire black metal incarnate. Unlord’s proud ‘n’ pure synthesis of bazooka-blown speed and violently melodic riffing reeks of late ‘90s nostalgia but also sounds remarkably fresh today, nearly 20 years after their untimely breakup. In 2002, with ultra-violent black metal on the wane, Unlord stuck to their guns and released Lord of Beneath. While its cover hues evinced a mysterious blue, Lord of Beneath was just as fiery as its two full-length predecessor – arguably, even more so! Indeed, Unlord remained as uncompromising as ever: they knew who they were, and they weren’t gonna change for the scene’s ever-fickle tastes. As such, their third (and sadly, final) album finds a rarely rivaled balance between utterly unhinged speed and powerfully precise execution.

And yet, crucially, Unlord here offer a variety of songcraft across the 13-track album whilst keeping the focus on cryogenically-cold violence. What’s more, their usage of synths is sparing and tasteful, and on Schwarzwald did they set forth a sterling standard of production: remarkably clear and crisp, but not once sacrificing an iota of power.

At the dawn of the new millennium did Unlord unleash their second album, Gladiator. Aptly titled and again adorned with appropriately fiery cover art, Gladiator was a consolidation of all-too-considerable strengths. The blitzkrieg speed of the preceding Schwarzwald is amazingly taken up a notch here, and the riffing clangs & churns with even more authority; if anything,Gladiator is the sound of Unlord at their most berserk. And yet, the icy melodicism remains, and the production is powerfully clear and crisp.

Hells Headbangers is proud to present Winter Eternal's highly anticipated third album, Land of Darkness. Winter Eternal is the sole work of one Soulreaper, formed as a means to express his darkest side - indeed, a place where winter reigns eternal. It all started in 2002 in Athens, Greece where, under the name Unveiled Nightsky, the seeds for the Winter that was yet to come where planted. Nine years later, in 2011, Winter Eternal were officially formed, and a year later, the first demo was released. The band's first full-length, simply self-titled, originally saw release in 2013 as a limited cassette and, three years later, finally as a CD version. Eternal winter was raging throughout Soulreaper's long journey. The multitude of feelings captured in his lyrics and especially his music made Winter Eternal a unique entity within the modern underground: influences ranged from the '90s Swedish black metal scene (Dissection, Gates Of Ishtar, Vinterland etc) to both the early Hellenic and Norwegian scenes (Rotting Christ, Necromantia, Varathron, Ulver, Windir, Satyricon etc). Truly, this was the work of an old soul, and the results were but only building in strength and sweeping grandeur

Hells Headbangers is proud to present Deathhammer's highly anticipated fifth album, Electric Warfare. By now, Deathhammer should need no introduction. For over 15 years now, this insatiable Norwegian duo have been at the forefront of the burgeoning blackthrash movement; in fact, one could successfully argue that the band are THE linchpins of that resurgence. Though blackthrash has seen intermittent surges in popularity since the latter half of the '90s onward, for sole members Sadomancer and Sergeant Salsten, this is a way of life - not a trend. Deathhammer proved as much as with their cult debut album, Phantom Knights, in 2010 and then proved it yet further and more fully - and more furiously and filthily - with 2012's Onward to the Pits and 2015's Evil Power, both of which were released by Hells Headbangers to widespread international acclaim. And yet, through it all, the duo kept their wits about them, simply being Deathhammer and taking their irresistible (and irresistibly evil) charm to stages worldwide, including a command performance at Hells Headbangers' Hells Headbash 2 in 2015. But, one need only took to 2018's Chained to Hell as the first AND last word on eternal, magickal blackthrash: "classic" doesn't do the album justice.

Hells Headbangers is proud to present Divine Empire’s cult debut album, Redemption. Formed in 1997, Divine Empire were an interesting formation of Florida death metal. Most prominently, the power-trio featured vocalist/bassist Jason Blachowicz, who played with Malevolent Creation during their most crucial years of 1991-1997. On drums was a young Derek Roddy, who’d also just left Malevolent Creation following that band’s In Cold Blood album, and before he’d become the modern drum-god known for his work with Hate Eternal, Today is the Day, and Aurora Borealis as well as session work for Nile and Nader Sadek among many others. On guitar was John Paul Soars, also fresh from leaving Malevolent Creation following In Cold Blood but also known for Raped Ape and Paingod.

Hells Headbangers are proud to present a special vinyl pressing of Armoured ANGEL's Demo Mcmxcv, which will now be released on 12" vinyl for the first time ever, with silkscreened art on Side B. Most interestingly, this four-song recording was done with none other than Killing Joke's Jaz Coleman, who lent a strange-yet-sympathetic ear to Armoured ANGEL's idiosyncratic style of largely mid-tempo death metal. Perhaps it was Coleman influencing the trio or the other way around, but Demo Mcmxcv maintains a certain buoyancy, an almost hovering aspect, which renders their characteristic crunch even more hummable than before – and no amount of power nor poignancy is sacrificed in the process.
