20 years HHV: our team has selected an album from each of these years that is particularly relevant and precious to us. On a monthly basis we release exclusive and limited pressings of these records in collaboration with some of our favorite labels.

Project: Mooncircle, as the name reveals, has been on a journey to the moon since day one, exploring the frontiers of music and art, always looking for new discoveries and giving a different perspective to look at the earth. In it’s 10 year history the label has published roughly 100 releases by equally as many artists from all corners of this globe and, therefore, the selection of sounds on this compilation represents the development of the label from the past, present and going into the future.

Some of the artists featured on this compilation have been a part of the label from its very beginning, like CYNE, Manuvers and Jahbitat, whose song will be the last one he produced and published under this moniker, while others, like Robot Koch, fLako and Long Arm, are outstanding examples of its growing popularity and success. Furthermore, the box also features an exceptional selection of close musical friends and inspirational artists like Jehst, Dday One, Kwala and Ichiro_, just to name a few.

The logo and artwork represent someone who was very close to the label, especially in the early years but unfortunately passed on and whom this box is dedicated to. British-German jazz rap super group Syrup returns with their second album “The Questions” on Melting Pot Music. Syrup are Twit One (beats), Turt of Summers Sons (rap) and C.Tappin (vocals & keys). Twit One is from Cologne and a true universal artist: producer, DJ, curator and record store-owner are some of the many hats Twit is wearing. Turt is one half of South London duo Summers Sons (the other half is his brother Slim) and best friend with C.Tappin with whom he and Slim form the Lightworks crew. Twit, Turt and Tappin share a friendship and musical partnership based on similar musical tastes and live values since they met in Bristol in 2015. Their first album “Rosy Lee” was released in 2021 on Melting Pot Music.

Acclaimed Jazzbeat-Producer FloFilz teams up with experimental HipHop/Jazz quartet Bokoya for collabo album Yurika on Melting Pot Music.

What happens when a four-headed human drum computer meets a classical trained vilonist turned beatmaker to spend time in the studio? A beautiful lily blossoms. At least this was the case when Bokoya and FloFilz entered Atelier 21 in Aachen (a Produzentengalerie für globale Kunst) for a musical encounter with no goals set. The music that was born out of these sessions is simply amazing, and we are more than happy to release them as an album under the name “Yurika” - which is a Japanese name that means “beautiful lily”. The artwork was created by Jens Roth & Jeremias Diekmann who are responsible for almost all Bokoya artworks yet. The 19-track strong instrumental album includes one vocal track featuring Japanese singer Kan Sano. FloFilz is one of Europe's most acclaimed Jazzbeat-producers with four albums on MPM under his belt. His last album “Close Distance” came out in 2022 and featured artists Alfa Mist, Blue Lab Beats, Jerome Thomas and Summers Sons. FloFilz is a classical-trained musician who not only plays the SP 404 but also violin. Bokoya describe themselves as a four-headed human drum machine that play improvised beat music. You can call it jazz if you like (all four members are graduated jazz musicians) but be ready to stumble over some Dilla, Kraut Rock, Ambient or Dub in the mix. In 2022 Bokoya released their second album Hausensession on MPM, followed by a collabo album with Cologne-based producer Ginanni Brezzo (Jakarta Records) called „Minari“.

"Insomnia" is the third solo album of the Italian jazz beat maestro Koralle for Melting Pot Music. Without exaggerating, the Bologna-born producer's album can be described as his most mature and progressive work. On "Insomnia" Koralle unites a few of his favorite artists and musicians, exchanging sounds, ideas, beats, melodies and lyrics with them. The guest list consists of fellow producers FloFilz, Pachakuti, Figub Brazlevic, Kuranes, Phoniks and Brous One, as well as vocalists Kid Abstrakt, KeepVibesNear and Ryshon Jones.

"A Bigger Picture" is a selection of unreleased, raw and uncut joints from 2010-2011 from the vaults of Lex. At that time his first solo project "Perfect Picture" was in the making, with a bunch of tunes that didn't make it to the album. 20 choice cuts are selected for this release to present the timeless outtakes more than a decade later.

"When We Will Return" is the next step in the artistic evolution of Alex Besikian, shaping his dreamy melodics combined with jazzy rhythms into an eclectic scenery of mostly instrumental hip hop. 10 tracks in total including a feature by legendary Substantial on the mic.

After releasing his first beat & instrumental album “Alltimers” in 2020, Berlin based multi-talent V.Raeter is back and kicking off the champagne for his upcoming sophomore LP “Sunday on a Monday” – this time released via Kabul Fire Records, also known as the nourishing home of high class instrumental releases in proud HipHop fashion. Loft is an instrumental hip hop album inspired by the free and spiritual jazz played by the New York loft movement of the 1960s and 1970s. A difficult time, where economic decline and poor housing politics somehow led to some amazing, innovative music, often self-recorded to cassette tapes. This music was recorded to tape on a loft as well, far away from the original loft scene. Written during the corona pandemic, this album also emerged from a difficult time. The do-it-yourself spirit and freedom of the loft movement inspired this process a lot, and it was recorded mostly with instruments from that era. There are no static BPMs or software instruments on this LP, everything is kept as analog and authentic as possible. Vintage electric pianos, tape loops and hardware effects emulate the sounds of the 1970s and the
aesthetics of hip hop sampling.

The album features independent jazz legends Idris Ackamoor, Ralph Thomas and Wendell Harrison. Chicago-born Idris Ackamoor was a founding member of The Pyramids, an influential jazz ensemble that was formed in the 1970s, and still releases critically acclaimed music today. Another Chicago musician, multi-instrumentalist Ralph Thomas is best known for his 1980 cult-classic album Eastern Standard Time. Detroit-native Wendell Harrison founded the important record label and jazz collective Tribe Records, and, like Ralph Thomas, also performed together with Sun Ra among many others. All three musicians have been very inspiring to me, and are important to the legacy of free and spiritual jazz. I’m so grateful and
honored to have them featured on these loft tapes.

Introducing "Lab Progression" the exciting collaborative project of Midan and Jammin Berries. This talented duo brings together contemporary Neo-Jazz beats and groovy lofi-esque tunes, creating a captivating blend of musical genres.

Their debut album is a collection of authentic jams recorded in the studio. Despite both being beatmakers, their collaboration feels more like a band, thanks to their shared musicality and creativity.

Jammin Berries is a skilled pianist and guitarist, while Midan shines as a bassist and multi-instrumentalist. Influenced by oldschool Jazz legends like Oscar Peterson and Jammin Berries interest in classical artists such a Bach, the duo has engaged in numerous discussions on how to infuse Hip Hop beats with a fresh, melodic twist including more interesting and complex Jazzy chord progressions. Hence the origin of their name “Lab Progression”.

Inspired by contemporary artists such as the Jazzbois, FloFilz and Kiefer, as well as the timeless creations of J Dilla, Lab Progression strives to combine the best of both old and new, resulting in a unique and captivating album.

The duo is eager to share their project with the world and there's no sign of them slowing down. Stay tuned for more exciting releases from Midan and Jammin Berries as they continue to push musical boundaries.

Hailing from Aarhus, Denmark, the quartet Clapper juxtaposes classic soul- and fusion jazz vibes with inspiration from instrumental hip hop and future beats. Their debut album "On Tempo" is showcasing the group’s knack for melodic improvisation and neck-snapping switch-ups, and, once and for all, underlining the potential on the young Danish scene today.

The four members - Frederik Emil Bülow (drums), Adrian Christensen (bass), Jeppe Lavsen (Guitar), and Malthe Jepsen (Piano & Rhodes) - are well-known faces in Danish music, also playing in acts such as Abekejser, Hvalfugl, Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet, Bangin’ Bülows Nice Jazz Quartet, and Casper Hejlesen Kvartet, respectively. Together, they’re able to strum out new music instinctively:

”It’s not important for us to adhere to any particular genre or style”, Jeppe remarks. “We just meet up, have fun, and improvise over riffs we’re digging. Having played together for so many years, it takes a very short time to click and move in the same direction. And from there, it’s simply a matter of picking and working with the best ideas from our improvised sessions.”

The same energy translates to their live shows - regular tour de forces in beat-focused jazz that, although the melodic cheerfulness might deceive new listeners, often end up in high-octane fusion workouts with crowds and musicians alike on their feet.

Next up on Beat Jazz International is producer Hands from Stockholm, Sweden. We instantly felt in love with his remix takes on classic Hip Hop cuts a few years ago and it was a no-brainer for us to get him on board when he presented the "Blue Hopes" album. In addition we are super happy to have our friend Shubangi being portrayed on the front cover.

Here's our next drop, "Smokey Ways To Chill" by Paris-based producer Aywee Tha Seed. 16 driving tracks full of headnod breaks and drums, always with that certain Aywee groove that we instantly felt in love with when we heard his demo's for the first time. Features are provided by fellow producers Tech Flips, ØDYSSEE and Alcynoos.
