The thematic, haunting score features a 34 piece string ensemble, an 11 piece brass ensemble, and features a newly restored Wurlitzer pipe organ which was previously housed at the 20th Century Fox scoring stage from the 1920’s until the mid-1990’s.

Ainhoa, daughter of Manex and Amanda, will embark on her journey of initiation in the mid-80s. In our country, when we talk about the 80s, how quickly words, images and a certain atmosphere come to everyone's mind (even to those of us who were born almost twenty years later). And between words, images and atmosphere, something else, pieces of a puzzle that would later help us to take a picture of the era, among other things: sounds, melodies, songs. Music, after all. Every step Ainhoa takes will be followed by a melody. The music will be, also in this case, the common thread to stitch together the different parts of the story. Needless to say, knowing the director of the film, it was foreseeable that the music would be in the foreground or very close to it. A collection of songs that will also put us out of our village. Perhaps it is more difficult for us to connect with languages and forms of music that touch us further away and to represent only with them the streets of Afghanistan or Lebanon in the 80s, for example. Most people will listen to these songs from an etic perspective, until we come to think that the last three songs are the same and the alarm of that perspective goes off. Redskins tell us about power from the UK and The Pogues combine traditional Irish melodies with Turkish flair. We will travel through Lebanon with the sweet melodies of Soapkills and Taniah Saleh, friends of Muguruza during his months in Beirut. The fundamentalists silenced the voices of the Afghans Bakht Zamina and Khan Qarabaghi, ending their lives, but as long as a people sings, you know, death is far away. The first sounds of Qarabaghi's singing brought to my mind the melodies of the bard of Itzaltzu. How far away but how close at the same time. We will approach Palestinian folklore accompanied by the voice of Amal Murkus and we will smell the streets of the south of France with the Marseille band Massilia Sound System, the sound system that performed in Pamplona in 1992 alongside Negu Gorriak. Originally released in 1972, Cosmo - the only solo effort from Creedence Clearwater Revival’s drummer Doug “Cosmo” Clifford - was recorded not long after the breakup of the legendary Bay Area band. Encompassing elements of country and R&B, plus plenty of up-tempo hooks, Cosmo includes eight original compositions, plus covers of tracks from the Spencer Davis Group (“I’m a Man”), John Sebastian’s “Daydream” and Doug Sahm’s “She’s About a Mover.” The album features CCR’s bassist Stu Cook on rhythm guitar, legendary sideman and Stax session musician Donald “Duck” Dunn on bass, plus members of Tower of Power on horns. Available for the first time in 45 years, the album is newly remastered by Clifford, pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in an old-school-style, tip-on jacket. An essential addition to every CCR or Grateful Dead aficionado’s record collection.

Although there were not that many psychedelic rock bands made up of all females in the world of the 1980s, "Angel'in Heavy Syrup" was the rarity one emerging from the Japanese noise rock scene, they were influenced by krautrock bands such as Amon Düül II, but drew primarily from psychedelic and progressive rock, resulting in their characteristic ethereal neo-psychedelic sound. Following reissuing the debut album last year, P-vine proudly presents their succeed releases on vinyl for the first time! This is still highly acclaimed 2nd album released in 1995 featuring their well-known tunes such as 'naked SKY High' and 'Kitto Aeruyo', which were played frequently as standard songs at their live shows. label, ‘East Plants’ is an essential album in the J
Jazz canon. It’s an album that distils several key
characteristics of Moriyama’s music: clearly
articulated and inventive rhythms, open yet orderly
arrangements, and an accessible groove balanced
with a graceful control.
‘East Plants’ features no piano, just percussion,
bass and reeds. From the luxurious raga-like build
of the album’s hypnotic title track and the fierce
post-bop workout of ‘Fields’, to the stately modal
track ‘Kaze’ ( as featured on the sell-out BBE
compilation, ‘J Jazz: Deep Modern Jazz From Japan
1968-1984’), the album was, until now, a rarely
acknowledged masterpiece. ‘East Plants’ shows
Moriyama’s quintet at their most transcendent:
delicate layers of percussion by Yoji Sadanari, a
warm and pliant bass from Hideki Mochizuki, with
colour and texture provided by the eloquent reed
work of Shuichi Enomoto and Toshiko Inoue. And,
overseeing it all, Moriyama’s discreet yet
commanding drumming.
The BBE J Jazz Masterclass Series is curated by
Tony Higgins and Mike Peden and is dedicated to
presenting the very finest in Japanese jazz. The
series will feature rare, long-lost and unreleased
material presented in the highest quality
reproductions of the original releases, fully licensed
