Die Kompromisslosigkeit hinter dem Schaffensprozess, spiegelt sich in jedem einzelnen Bit, der auf 300 Stück limitierten Platte aus schwarzem Gold wieder. DJ Cutrock von den Forcki9ers sorgt für die beste Auflösung und Framerate, allerdings sind seine Hände für das bloße Auge nicht zu erkennen, wenn er seine punktgenauen Cuts abliefert. Der Soundtrack ist durchweg geprägt von düsteren und wuchtigen Diggy Mac Dirt Instrumentals. Für einen Gastbeitrag, haben sich die Beiden für den Berliner Producer-Underdog Q-Cut entschieden, welcher den Beat für das "Entlösungsmanifest" gezimmert hat. Im Teamspeak schaltet sich tatkräftige Unterstützung in Form von Finest (Forcki9ers) und ESC aus Rostock hinzu.

Nach der "Feierabendschablone" verlässt nun offiziell das zweite Release die Pforten der Bretterbude am 28.02.2020 und kann nun vorbestellt werden.

Over the years Willy has written a few but so far they haven"t fit on any of the Delines album. The wrong place at the wrong time sorta thing. The Golden State leans on the bands cowpunk roots dating back to Richmond Fontaine (Portland) and The Damnations(Austin). Willy brought it in to the band right just as they were drifting away from that sound. My Blood Bleeds The Darkest Blue was inspired by those great Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood duets. It has a real desert feel to it but at the time the Delines were working on The Sea Drift which was set on the Gulf Coast. So both are songs that the band loved but songs that were left orphaned and they thought they better give them a proper home before they got lost along the way.

Back in 2010 Caribou's Dan Snaith hosted a remix competition for his track 'Sun' from his then-new album Swim. The winner was an unknown producer called altrice. Hailing from Tucson, Arizona of Iranian/Mexican descent, altrice took the bright euphoric highs of the original and crumbled them into rumbling lows, the crystalline edges becoming rough and undefined. Along with a bursting goody-bag of prizes, Snaith also provided altrice with the stems for the rest of Swim and the offer to remix the whole album track-by-track, creating 'stem'. Aside from a further dream-come-true remix of Radiohead, this is largely the last we heard from altrice in the past 12 years.

Raised on the seemingly ingrained House sound of Cork (Ireland) and its heavy influence by renowned and revered House heads Fish Go Deep and their Sweat Nights at the legendary Sir Henry’s Club it was an inevitable progression for Balmr to follow the path of producer and DJ. Over the past decade he’s releases his material on the likes of Nordic Trax, Kolour Detroit, Expanded Records and more, as well as hosting his own Down Right Deep Show on Deep House Radio. Here, presenting his new latest collection of works, ‘Paths Unknown’ sees Balmr captures moments in time and individual journeys to paths previously undiscovered.

Opening the EP is ‘Drifting’, an aptly titled journey traversing through hypnotic, billowing chords, atmospherics strings and shuffled drums. ‘Deep City Nights’ follows next and encapsulates the frenetic energy city life has to offer in the night-time via an amalgamation of jazzy keys, dubby chords, expansive vocal chants and crisp percussion. A splendid interpreter for a truly stunning piece, as fresh and far-sighted as the day it was recorded at Studio Emme in Calenzano by Marzio Benelli with the Yamaha DX7 synth and Linn 9000 drum sequencer that are at the base of the piece - made and re-interpreted in the four original versions, all sung in the Eastern Asian pentatonic scale. ‘Nightlights in Japan’ was also written by Massimiliano Orfei, at the time collaborator in the advertising projects from label Smash One Music of Pino Toma, the producer who drew new inspiration to venture into the record market, which, in 1987 became everyday more difficult and this song was considered out of fashion - even if each version seems to have been built as a unique composition, and it was expertly arranged by the talented Giorgio Costantini (Giokost as composer). We’ve clarified as to whom Galvanica's velopendulus belongs, to rightly consider this artist as a contributive voice of disco music, despite being part of the ‘second wave’ of the Italo-Disco scene having contributed to it as Otero, Belen Thomas, Angelby and previously with the disco-project Plustwo creating ‘Melody’ (which after 40 years gets a new extraordinary success with 134 million plays on TikTok and around 18 million streaming).

After showcases at Roadburn Redux (2021) and Eurosonic (January 2022), already 4 (!) repressings of debut album Unfold the God Man within just a year of its release, and big gigs at Alcatraz Festival and supporting Amenra, we can safely say that there is massive buzz around this band. Psychonaut literally came from out of nowhere -Mechelen, Belgium, to be precise- but their sophomore album Unfold The God Man made waves in the post- and progressive metal scenes: an intricate concept album tackling philosophical and existential themes and ultimately exploring mankind's re-ascension to a higher level of consciousness, the nearly 70-minute-long Unfold The God Man contained material from over 3 years of incessant writing, arranging and recording. The band premiered an in-studio play-through of their 16-minutes contribution The Great Realisation, a track about the start of both an individual and a collective awakening, at this year's digital edition of Roadburn Festival April - a full-on assault on the senses brimming with ingenuity, from the creative drumming to the amazingly talented Stefan de Graef's idionsyncratic guitar playing, all the way to the use of didgeridoos and tribal percussion, The Great Realisation showcased truly world class musicianship and songwriting abilities. Ferocious Fellowman, an EP originally released in 2016, is the band's 2nd release, tucked between 2014's debut album "24 Trips Around The Sun" and 2020's "Unfold The God Man". Long sold out and sought after, it was about time for a reissue of this seminal release, which paved the way for Unfold The God Man. Rare New Jersey band from the '70s in a grooving, jamming rock—a la Grateful Dead (in their seventies garb, post Pig Pen), Allman Brothers (with Duane still alive), Little Feat—vein. This is the kind of record that gets better the more it goes on, with side two being one of the most desirable in the whole genre. Mad Fables came together in the 1970s before such labels as "jam band" or “indie band" existed. They self-produced and published their own music—they released Get Off in 1977—and established a base of friends who enjoyed music and community. They called it "making a record". Every year Mad Fables would celebrate the end of winter and arrival of Spring, by throwing a huge party to which the entire world was invited. Attendees were asked to bring their signature dish or beverage and the group would play spirited sets of music. The leftovers usually fed the group for a month. Mad Fables drew thousands of people to their self-run events. Far more people say they “saw the band live” than actually exist in the state of New Jersey! After the group disbanded around 1980, the feasts continued as a type of once a year reunion. Shockingly enough, the Feast was held for 30 consecutive years. Mad Fables music was never destined for commercial acceptance. In its best years, its members’ incomes would never rise to the poverty line. But for those who were touched by it, the music burns brightly even today. According to the band, Mad Fables' music was the result of a process "that nourished and drew upon their collective experience, fusing the music with whatever emotions arose while playing. This audio alchemy unleashed an energy that enveloped those tuned to this type of frequency, and drove all to a joyful madness.” 500 copy pressing on black vinyl with insert and a back cover design (the rare original didn't have any).

Voice Imitator is the collaborative project of PER Bystrom, Justin Fuller, Mark Groves, and Leon O’regan. All four have been active as part of numerous, cross-genre ventures in the Australian underground for many years. Bystrom has offered a rhythmic heart for Exhaustion and Leather Towel, whilst further expanding on metrical ideas in Compound, his solo electronic undertaking. Zond, TOL, Grane and various solo outings have all showcased Fuller’s severely manipulated, hallucinogenic guitar and unsettling electronics. O’Regan has provided lithe, turbulent and imaginative bass guitar for THE Bunyip Moon, and antagonistic industrial electronics as Dire Ears. Groves, as vocalist, has previously oscillated between the idiosyncratic combination of drily delivered text, close-miked voice and concrète sound for RED Wine AND Sugar and solo project Absurd Cosmos Late Nite, as well as functioning as frontperson for noise rock and heavy electronic acts True Radical Miracle and Dead Boomers. In Voice Imitator, these four pursue mutual auditory fixations and eccentric individual inputs toward a distinctive and cohesive unit. Groves’ texts are the outcome of anxious and fatigued surveillance, emerging as bleak satire and quietly surreal flashes drawn from the mundane. Vacillating awkwardly between barely contained frustration and ironic detachment, this voice is ushered by a relentless ostinato pulse, washes of heavily effected guitar, subterranean electronic noise and a tense ambience of self-conscious nervousness. Recurring undercurrents of motorik rhythm, and motor city techno draw shared obsession together, providing an altogether new construction. Much like the allegory of a boiling frog, here tension slowly builds to an aggressively muscular conclusion.

Whether scoring a film or making a solo album, Daniel Davies thinks cinematically. Images and story - on a movie screen, on a canvas, or flashing through his mind - inform the shape of his compositions and the sounds he uses to bring them to life. For Signals, his first solo record for Sacred Bones, the inspiration for his musical narration was a collaboration with visual artist Jesse Draxler, whose otherworldly mixed media works grace the cover and the booklet."I had an instant connection to Jesse's art," Davies explains. "One of the main concepts for this album was working with the feeling of uncertainty. Jesse's art illustrates that perfectly with his disruptive shapes. At first, they are foreign to the landscapes they live in, but over time we become used to them, we adjust. The foreign objects force us to evolve, to accept and live with the uncertainty they create."Using Draxler's images as his jumping off point, Davies created eight richly textured compositions that created a soundtrack for the unsettling world of the artwork. "Musically, I wanted to capture that same contrast - melodies evolving out of drones, haunting beds of tension with beautiful shimmering melodies laid above. What were once conflicting emotions became harmonious."As the songs move through the landscape, Davies calls on whatever instrumentation he needs to serve their journey. He utilizes the warbling synths and slicing guitar that have characterized his soundtrack work, but he's also preternaturally at ease when he busts out a harpsichord and a vocal synth on lead single "Phantom Waltz." On "Destructive Field," he leaves space for his Halloween collaborator John Carpenter to lay down his signature sound. "Footings is the long-running/rocking outgrowth of Peterborough NH's great ruralist duo, Redwing Blackbird. Initially formed as a trio in 2012 by Eric Gagne on guitar and vocals, Footings' sound embraces a sort of inner light derived from folk music, but surrounds it with a variety of rockist tropes. This rock action can take many forms, especially on this new album, which features their most expanded/expansive line-up yet.

Original trio member Elisabeth Fuchsia (frequent Pile collaborator) is on viola and long-time collusionist Candace Clement provides guitar, synth and vocals. Jordan Holtz (from Rick Rude) supplies vocals. Ben Rogers (Eric's bandmate from Death to Tyrants) adds drums where needed. Will Killingsworth (Ampere/Bucket Full of Teeth) adds pedals and tambourine as required. The latter pair were also responsible for engineering the album, but their musical additions are sonically notable.

Gagne's songs and deep vocals, often the core of the band's operation, combine the literary qualities of a heavy reader with the observational data of a poet. In this, Footings might occasionally be mistaken for one of Will Oldham's multifarious projects. But the band has a distinct way of scrambling their eggs, and that was never clearer than it is here. Full songs are interspersed with fragmentary shards in a way that reminds me of how Michael Hurley faded out “Rat Face” after its intro, on Hi Fi Snock Uptown. I mean, “Sleeping” sounds tantalizingly close to a Neil Young penned out-take from Deja Vu for the 35 seconds it runs. But that's all there is!

This outré editing process works quite well. By allowing themselves to create slivers of textural similarity to Sonic Youth (“Ordinary Night”), Crazy Horse (“Sleeping”), and even Heldon (“Wouldn't It Be Something”), Footins display wide possibilities while maintaining their primary focus on creating a kind of avant garde American roots music with the brash complexity of Yo La Tengo and the stately depth of Wilco.

Annihilation is the best Footings record to hit the planet yet. And that is saying something."

Through the alias Trascendance, coined in 2021, Riccardo Buccirossi obtains an alchemical mixture of techno, electro and acid, which are precisely the strands from which he draws inspiration for the debut album of Havalon Records founded by Alessandro Di Fulvio and Jacopo. In "Formula", a title in line with the alchemical world, he unrolls a red-hot metal spiral on a soft and malleable beat that melts like butter under the desert sun. Hailing from Moss Side, Manchester, this young talent has been steadily building a rep for himself over the past few years as one of the UK's most exciting soul vocalists, with his releases encompassing an eclectic assortment of alternative R&B, future soul, hip hop and D&B. Influenced by an array of neo-soul artists, such as D'Angelo and Anderson .Paak, his own soulful style has already seen him tour and collaborate with a number of UK peers; working on projects with label-mates Children of Zeus & Australia's REMi, and supporting the likes of Etta Bond & The Mouse Outfit, as well as performing sell-out headline solo shows in Manchester and London, and playing various festivals across Europe, including the We Out Here festival very recently.

Since he began developing his music in 2017, [ K S R ] has had support from the likes of 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Mixmag, NTS, Reprezent, Unity & Soho Radio, in addition to featuring on a slew of D&B tracks with artists like Lenzman, BCee, Emba & Redeyes. The collab with Emba was recently named a 'Kiss FM Future Selection' courtesy of Hybrid Minds and features have been supported on Spotify's 'New Music Friday' and 'Mandem - Kings' amongst others. His debut release 'Unfiltered' appeared on Polarface Records in 2019, which was followed by single 'Flex With Me' (also produced by Tyler Daley from Children of Zeus) then an independent second EP, 'Take Control', followed in late 2020 (during the pandemic) which amassed over 500k streams. Additionally to the releases, he was recently recruited by Manchester United as part of their 21/22 season kit announcements, as well as working with Nike and Size? on a special MCR-themed Air Force 1 release.

It's now time for a new extended project from Roosevelt Kazaula Sigsbert - better known as [ K S R ]. 'Peace + Harmony' is a solid set of alternative R&B, produced by Dom Porter and mixed by Eric Lau. Six tracks in all, including the single, 'Harmless' (which received support from the likes of Mr. Scruff (Worldwide FM), BBC Manchester and Victoria Jane (bbc Radio 1), was 'Track Of The Week' on 1Xtra/BBC Introducing, and saw the video racking up several thousand plays in its first weekend) and follow-up 'cgwy' featuring Children of Zeus on a brand new interpretation of their classic track 'Get What's Yours'. From the intro track 'I Wonder', to the downlow future soul of 'Lily Apart', to the autobiographical vibes of 'Born In '98', to the closing track 'Given Summer', also featuring the vocals of Ayeisha Raquel, each track on the EP is of course laced with Roosevelt's unmistakable silky smooth vocals, and is set to join his already impressive catalogue of underground soul classics such as 'Alien Boo', 'Stylin' and 'New Love'.

[ K S R ] says "my third EP, [ P E A C E + H A R M O N Y ] is a collection of my thoughts and experiences from my journey throughout the last two years of my life.
