So my man Hakan Dougpark, a well known demo tape hunter and youtube poster hit me up with the Lord Dakim and the Mellow One demo tape from 93 and said: "Yo Bob, any chance of making this happen?". It took a while but finally the producer Jerry (Ain't it Funky) Phillips found the OG tapes and this stunning EP was born.

Peep the interview below to get more info on the crew. There were only 50 demo tapes ever, most of which ended up at radio stations and labels. No significant interest emerged, that is until 30 years later when Herring came along to make it happen. What can I say fisherman, it was definitely worth the wait!!!

Dazzie Dee was originally slated to drop "Where's My Receipt?" back in 1996 on Capitol Records. After Dazzie Dee was dropped and the album was shelved he dropped "The Re-Birth" on indie label "Raging Bull Records". This album contained some of the tracks including unreleased material that didn't make the cut for "Where's My Receipt?".

In 2009 Dazzie Dee dropped an official reissue on his own Gee'd Up Records label which has been out of print for a while now. It was time for SWE to step in and bring this gem back to the streets. On the reissue we staid true to the original artwork and disc layout and we also used the dope promo sticker / front of the advance as the cover for the reissue. We went to work with the original track names and all tracks that appear on the album were initially recorded for this project meaning we dropped "Gee'd Up" and "G Stories" but added on 3 more tracks. In total we have 18 tracks of which 15 were produced by the legendary DJ Battlecat and the remaining 3 were handled by Dazzie Dee himself.

Guests include Coolio, Ice Cube, K-Dee, Tha Chill, Mixmaster Spade and one of the godfathers of gangsta rap Compton legend Toddy Tee.

Artwork handled by LDL and all mastering done by Jee Van Cleef.

The CD will be limited to only 250 copies and the double vinyl edition will drop in early November.

AOI: Bionix is De La Soul's sixth full-length album, released on December 4, 2001. The first single, "Baby Phat" featuring Yummy Bingham and Devin the Dude, was an ode to larger sized women. Elsewhere, "Held Down", featuring Cee-Lo, found Posdnuos in an introspective mood as he mused on fatherhood, religion, and fame. Slick Rick also made an appearance on "What We Do (For Love)"; a humorous song about puberty and sexual discovery. The album featured skits with a character by the name of Reverend Do Good, which worked as social commentary as well as the intros and outros of the songs. The final Reverend Do Good skit acts as one final advertisement for Ghost Weed as heard on De La Soul's previous album, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump. "Ya Oughta Know" should have been the title of the debut album of Sons Of Sam, the Philly-based duo comprised of The Xav and PA-Kid. Here we have a collection of 12 tracks recorded between 1993 to 1994 plus the bonus track "Glass Eyes" from 1996.

Going back in time, Xav says "The Sons Of Sam title is not what it seems. Everybody thought we were modeling ourselves after Charles Manson the mass murderer of the 70's. Actually, the truth is that we are brothers who have a father named Sam. Easy as that. But we do manage to murder the mic from time to time and an appropriate name would have been the Mic Manglers. We did our own tracks when we worked as individuals but when we were both on tracks together PA-Kid originally did the tracks. He could make any track fit both of our styles and if it didn't fit I would usually adapt to the style of the track. PA-Kid's original name was Samson and i was called Xay. That was given to my by a fellow MC named Manifest in 1986 when i was his DJ. I started writing more and began recording my own tracks."

Released via Below System Records, “Purgator” is the second part of Chuuwee’s five part “Dystopia” series. Part
one, Paradiso, was released in March 2017. The album focuses on the ideology of what paradise is or means to us as
people, while explain the purpose of existence from an existentialist perspective.
“Purgator” takes a darkened turn for the worse, displaying a showcase of manic depressive and self-conscious viewpoints
of one’s own success and outlook toward in a nihilistic view point of the age of question that everyone has been asking,
why am I alive?
The 14 track album includes guest features by Rothstein, Roc$tedy, Looselyric, dahLak and production by Calev,
Money Montage, Ac3 Beats, EsVybe and more.
Officially released in July 2017 on digital platforms, the new limited CD edition of only 100 copies includes 3 bonus tracks.
Chuuwee, who is in his mid-20’s, already has a discography of over twenty albums and mixtapes to his name. Raised in
Sacramento California. the “South Sac Mack” had the benefit of a home studio as a child as his Mother was studying
music production. In his teens Chuuwee was already destroying local poetry slams with his rhymes.

Ill-Ko consists of rappers Jason, Rob Dollars and Finess as well as producer SG, representing New York, New Jersey and Kansas City, MO. Dropping the tape-only "Heavy Hittas Volume 1" release in 1998, the group created a certain buzz in the underground scene which shortly after led to the again self-released follow-up 12" single "Illy-I" in 1999. All tracks from both releases are now reissued for the very first time, accompanied by rare and unreleased photographies of the group straight from the negatives.
