A Tribe Called Quest are widely hailed as one of the greatest rap acts of all time. This trio (2-mic pioneers, Phife Dawg & Q-Tip, along with their DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammad) was one of the most lyrically gifted in the music genre of Hip-Hop. The blends of jazz ‘n bass-heavy beats (East Coast “muddy bass”) was truly and still is truly innovative. Instead of being a great rap album like the one before it, “Beats, Rhymes & Life” is a great Tribe album. It takes time to understand it but it fits perfectly in its place in the Tribe canon and in the mid- 90s. It has their trademark smooth style and flow with a much darker theme and subject matter than their previous album. It’s a real work of art and still fresh so many years after its release.

Jam Baxter is joined on this journey by a very carefully selected & varied set of vocalists; who all bring

‘Kellion’ is the story of a young boy who was born into a mysterious world he explores with his curious eyes, ears and hands. Every new experience lets him grow as a person and also expands his knowledge of the world that surrounds him. His young mind is sometimes blurrying the lines between imagination and reality, dreaming and being awake, reality and fantasy. "Smoothness Extract (Deep Night At Ishigaki)" is Lambent's third full-length album, and his first on the Project Mooncircle label. Whilst his earlier work was rooted in Ambient and Electronic music, this record presents his sound in the context of Instrumental Hip Hop, with strong elements of Electronic music still present. You could group this record with the recent wave of Dilla inspired Hip Hop, but equally you could group it with Autechre when they're at 90 BPM.
The record came about after Project Mooncircle heard some of Lambent's tracks and feel in love with the calmer and smoother pieces of his often intense sound. Hence, Lambent compiled these seventeen extracts from the smoother side of his repertoire.
This album is made as his dedication towards a small Japanese island, "The Isle of Ishigaki". Lambent is originally from Japan (although he has lived in Berlin for many years), but he has never visited this place... The album is the sound track to a summer time night trip around the Island, visiting the many different aspects of the scenery, nature, feelings, emotions, sights and sounds as Lambent imagines them.

RJ’s career took off while performing under the name Reign Man.
