The latest effort from California hardcore band Precious, was at its core, a group effort to maintain sanity during uncertain times. Idealized in 2020, recorded throughout 2021, and finally releasing just before 2022 comes to a close. Formed as an idea collaborated on between former Adamantium guitarist, Dan Sena, and former Threadbare vocalist, Brian Lovro, Precious has already proved as prolific as any of their former bands. These newest recordings, rounded out with drummer Matt Horwitz (Adamantium, Mean Season, Eighteen Visions), bassist Dustin Perry (Threadbare, Snapcase), and guitarist JP Gerick (death BY Stereo, Common War) feel like the most complete version of the band thus far.

The second full-length release from one of Orange County’s most beloved hardcore bands. You Don’t Have To Be Blood To Be Family originally came out as the band was gaining massive momentum. The rising popularity of what became “metalcore” combined with a relentless touring schedule lent itself to the band eventually jumping to that next level. In 2021, there was a limited, 20th Anniversary pressing of this album on vinyl that was sold as a mail-order only item. This pressing marks the first time since the original 2001 pressing that this record has been available to stores and distros. The members from this line-up will be playing a one-off show (at least for now) this summer in California at Indecision Records 30th Anniversary show.

Often over-looked, Adamantium was one of the original pioneers of what came to be Orange County’s metalcore scene of the early 2000s. Locally, From The Depths Of Depression was a highly influential album that helped propel them to be that band that touring bands did not want to play after. Released in 1998, this 25th anniversary edition is actually the first time this album has been available on vinyl since that original, ’90s pressing. To mark the occasion (as well as Indecision’s 30th), the original line-up from this record will be playing a one-off show in California this summer.
