Smoke Trees did us the honors of making the first entry in this brand new series and collection of 7 inches vinyls that we'll be releasing periodically called "777". The 3 sevens stand for 7 inches, 7 minutes, 7 euros. The series will showcase some of our most prominent producers and their take on the incredibly powerful but devastating world of gambling.

After winning many beat battles (Beat Cinema, Beast of the Beats LA, etc.) and touring with Dirty Science all stars, Blu & Exile, Dag Savage, Choosey and more--So Cal beatsmith and Exile’s protégé, Sirplus is ready to make his Dirty Science Records debut with a 7", followed by the digital release of "Brandy vs. Moesha." This instrumental 45 is just an introduction to what he has in store but is the perfect way to get the party started or just to throw on and vibe. Sirplus is dropping this beautiful solo limited instrumental 45 to show you how his beats can stand alone and hold a standard even without vocals.

Flughand and and Smuv, 37 and 27 year old producers from Germany, collaborate on their debut EP “Fluo”. They are both giants in the streaming game and known for their laid back, dreamy, lofi hip hop beats. They are two of the most well-known artists in the genre of lofi, with streams counting more than 100 million clicks. BeatPete, a fellow German and widely respected DJ, is the link here for the release on KingUnderground. BeatPete is a friend of KU owner, Dan Englander, since they met on a tour in Berlin in 2015. BeatPete sent links to some music he was enthusiastic about to Dan and then KingUnderground reached out to Flug & Smuv. The two had never met but were fans of each other. From there it was quite straightforward. They have like-minded inspirations in music and they follow the same ethos:
music is for fun, not a consumable; any money they make from being creative is a reward. They each have their own distinctive style of cover art for all their solo projects and this time they worked with an Italian artist, “Heey Studio Design” for the “Fluo” EP illustration. It conveys the two of them, a cat (Smuv) sitting on a little island, chilling with a cocktail in the middle of an ocean and a dog (Flughand), flying an airplane up in the sky.

Austin Boogie Crew had to do something special for our first vinyl release of 2019, and with that we present H1NDS1GHT , a killer double 7” modern funk EP by the one and only XL Middleton! Hailing from Pasadena, California, XL has established himself as one of the premiere musicians, label owners (MoFunk Records), and tastemakers in the game. Using outstanding and mostly unreleased material from his archives as the foundation for this project (hence the name H1NDS1GHT), XL reimagined these songs and penned fresh lyrics specifically for the release. We divided the EP into two 45s, each with its own distinct vibe, and with the help of illustrator Austin Cashell and designer Rene Cardenas, created a unique album jacket that forms one image when the two records are held side by side. Viewed as a whole, this EP is an exceptional ride that will carry you from spring into summer!

Vol. 2 A: “Gamin’” (120 BPM) - Broken beat inspired drums and soaring chords lay the groundwork for this exceptional jam about approaching a woman with respect and care. With a sick solo and some vocoder peppered into the mix, this is a winner in more ways than one.

B: “Enjoyable Sunburn” (116 BPM) - XL crafts a playful yet smooth instrumental that would sound at home in an Outrun video game or on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack. But it isn’t just the nostalgia factor that will keep you coming back to this one, it’s the compositional finesse, amazing synth sounds, and heart.

Vol. 1 A: “Nervous” (112 BPM) - Making a lasting impression out the gate, “Nervous” is a modern funk anthem for anyone who’s struggled with the confidence to approach someone romantically. On top of the endearing and refreshing songwriting, the instrumentation on this one is crisp and way funky.

B: “Digital Devils” (113 BPM) - Originally featured on the 2014 cassette compilation Is This The Future?, this irresistible instrumental is long overdue for the vinyl treatment. The slapping drums and wet, punchy bass on this one immediately demand attention. With lovely changeups and 16-bit style leads, this is an ace in the hole on any dance floor.

Long-time producer and fixture of LA's hip hop scene from his early work with the Project Blowed collective to co-founding the legendary Low End Theory night, Nobody presents a brand new album of instrumental hip hop sprinkled with psychedelic and soundtrack flavors.

Once again Jazzsoon returns with another, soon to be rare and sought after release entitled "Heavy Archives".
This time taking a break from the conceptual beat tapes like "Taxi" or the most recent "Cosby Tape" the one known as Jazzsoon went back into his Archive and compiled 3 to 4 albums worth of music that hasn't seen the light of day for some years until now.

Includes bonus production from the producers featured on the soundtrack and in the documentary (Amp Fiddler, Quelle Chris, J Dilla, Dakim, House Shoes, Slautah, Ahk, Hugh Whitaker, & Rafael Statin) curated by TaRaach. From the 1st clip of "Start Recording" to the blaring of the J Dilla Anthem "Ghetto Wish", this 7 inch serves its purpose for any DJ needing to improve their collection.

Funky brothers Ryan and Scott Wild got together musically in 2014, though they’ve been hanging out rather longer than that. The duo, hailing from southwest England, are known for mixing up a cocktail of party phibes across breaks, swing, funk, hip hop, drum and bass, glitch hop, and reggae and have had #1 releases on Juno and Beatport.

Virginia label Boogieburg Recordings offers up some of the finest glitch swing and heavy funk breaks by Phibes in the form of “Virginia Swing” and “Funky Rubber Band” housed in a hand-stamped antique green “old style” paper sleeve for the label’s third 7” release. Two absolute winners on the dance floor.

The Content Label presents a dynamic new split EP from Lex (de Kalhex) and Dday One, titled “Parallel Presence”. The EP’s title reveals some clues: ‘parallel’ refers to something similar to another, while ‘presence’ imagines a thing that exists but is not seen. These two producers, as kindred spirits, strive to work on this deeper level. Parallel Presence is an expressive step forward, presenting intricate beats, thoughtful samples, and otherworldly vibes colluding towards a mesmerizing whole.

Los Angeles based producer Dday One bookends the EP with “Key Signature” and “Moving Force”, displaying his undisputed acumen for rhythm construction and skillful arrangement. The opening track, in particular, is a beat-head’s manna, featuring a serpentine bass line, staccato vocals, and heavy piano riffs, all synchronized at a headnodic tempo. Alex Besikian aka Lex (de Kalhex) is a visual artist, producer, and MC, known as the co-founder of Paris’s Akromégalie Records and 1/3 of seminal French hip hop group Kalhex. His cuts “Brilliant Circles” – with its night owl drum beat, tinkling electric keys, and gentle horn line – and “Solstice” – featuring ringing tones, bluesy guitar riffs, velvet saxophone, and some serious rhythm play – uncannily compliment Dday One’s contributions, cementing “Parallel Presence” as an EP best ingested from front to back.

Visual and audio art also come together in the project’s cover design, which was a collaborative effort of the two producers. The Content Label aims to bring together distinct forms of expression, with sound, thought, and visual art combining through the imprint’s releases. “Parallel Presence” is just the latest evidence.

The beat-ish series goes into the second round with Haus und Baum mastermind Khaderbai. These are fresh boom bap beats straight out of Zürich.

Young Echo members 'Jabu' return with this milestone – a slowly turning piece about love-sickness and longing... Distilled soul music in it's purest form. From the first beat right through to the final chorus, the brooding tension and almost unbearable tranquility of chester giles' words control time until Alex Rendall - the voice of Jabu - sets in with the chorus, echoing chester's sentiments, elevating this feeling into higher heights.

Ish's first 45 single features two brilliant and banging tracks by a young producer duo hailing from Zürich: Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie. After releasing a bunch of mesmerizing and unconventionally fresh beats (or songs if you will) on different digital platforms, it was about time for these two inspired beat heads and record enthusiasts to have their music pressed on vinyl. For the beat-ish series they remixed or rather re-did two of their favorite tracks from their impressive back catalog and spiced them up a notch for the proper punch factor. Striking and stuttering-ly thumping drums, delicately crafted synth melodies, a flair for surprising breaks and melodic changes and gently interlaced singing form an invigorating and unique sound they can call their own. They do though seamlessly join the so called 'beat' scene with figureheads like Flying Lotus, Samiyam, Nosaj Thing, Dibiase a.o.
This is stunning work from two young and already hyped producers we will hear more about in the future!
