Embracing Midgar’s story-tale approach, ‘Da Nao Tian Gong’ (also known as ‘Havoc in Heaven’) stands as Polygonia’s latest four-track EP. Lindsey Wang draws direct influence from a beloved childhood cartoon, itself inspired by the ancient Chinese legend ‘Journey to the West’ and the iconic character Sun Wukong. In a retro-modern twist, the tracks vividly depict Sun Wukong’s essence: ‘Jindou Yun’ embodies the swiftness of his cloud, ‘Shen Wai Shenfa’ invokes his magical hair with tribal rhythms, ‘Ruyi Jingu Bang’ mirrors his legendary staff’s power, and ‘Disha Shu’ portrays his 72 Transformations through vibrant harmonics. Label concept Born in April 2014, Midgar is a Berlin based label that aims to bring innovative features into modern techno, and to deliver a new and meaningful sound loaded with positive energy. Leaving the trends behind, Midgar has a wide range of interests spanning from Deep Techno to Ambient and Downtempo. A sound that tells stories as people dance. Artist’s biography Ruhig is the new project of Luigi Cicchella, also known as Audiolouis , Dj/Producer and founder (together with Synthek) of Natch Records, respected techno label based in Berlin. Ruhig (real name Luigi Cicchella) musical background has deep roots in drum and bass, trip hop and ambient, which through the years he naturally extended to techno, but still keeping a really peculiar approach to it. Ruhig debuts on Midgar in 2014 with the deeply atmospheric (mdg002) ‘Lost In The Instability EP’ followed by a remix pack (mdg002x) from the likes of Edit Select, Luigi Tozzi, Wata Igarashi and Synthek. After one year Ruhig comes back on Midgar with a double Ep, which the first installment (MDG005.1) Particles EP is scheduled for mid december 2015.

Ruff Cherry debuts on Midgar with the retro-futuristic “Ritual Ep” delivering five (4 vinyl + 1 digital) spaced out cuts costantly spanning between dub, sci-fi ambient and deep techno. The first track Ritual is a dubbed out concoction of african drums, solemn atmospheres and bleeping circuits of a meditative machine. The A side closes with the broken beat Planet Outlaw, a super chilled-out groove meets entrancing heavenly pads. Mysterians on the flipside opens with a short intro before an eerie high pitched drum breaks in, embracing uplifting soundscapes and suddenly crossed by flying transistors. The last track on the vinyl is the deep and tribal Endless World (Future Mix) bringin sounds from celebratory steps around the fire. The Last Day Of Pompeii is a compilation of hidden gems by Retina.it -most of them released via Chicago’s Hefty Records in early 2000- and few unreleased coming as a double EP. The records will have inserts presenting 2 halves of Karl Brullov painting from 1830 (that gives the name to the project). On the backside of the insert there will be anecdotes and pictures from the archives. Midgar want to pay tribute to the Pompeian duo, whose life has been entirely dedicated to music. Retina.it is respected by the likes of Frank Bretschneider, Olaf Bender, Donato Dozzy, John Hughes considered ‘big’ and ‘seniors’ of electronic music industry, but modern public is lacking informations about them. The project ‘The Last Day Of Pompeii’ talks about their origins, early history and relationship with Hefty Records.

Basel based experimental techno producer and amenthia label co-owner Agonis steps up on Midgar. The release is inspired by the astronomical phenomenon of gamma rays, the most energetic form of electromagnetic radiation.
