High Sunn is the project of Justin Cheromiah, a Bay Area-based songwriter who started making music at the age of 14 by recording at his home, and whose works vary from alterna to indie pop to shoegazer, all centered around a bedroom style that is his specialty. He has already released many albums on various labels such as Spirit Goth, Pmkslm, and Galaxy Train. High Sunn has teamed up with P-vine to release his brand new album "welcome to life". Justin is heavily influenced by Japanese culture, including anime and music, and this is evident throughout his work. The album's lead track "alternate touch" was written by Azusa Suga (April Blue / ex. For Tracy Hyde) in lyrics and features vocals by Yua Uchiyama, a member of Japanese idol group RAY.

In 2023, downt showed further expansion of their activities by collaborating with many overseas artists such as Gestalt Girl (Taiwan), Grrrl Gang (Indonesia), Pswingset (us), and deathcrash (uk), and releasing the epic single "Undecember", which showed a new direction as a band. The long-awaited full-length album will finally be released in March 2024 from P-vine! The new album also features re-recorded versions of their iconic songs such as '111511', 'mizu ni naru' and 'AM4:50', which were included in previous eps and beloved by fans.

The debut album "InternetTeenage Lover" by the indie-pop supernova from Thailand, Lesssugär, is now available in physical form for the first time in the world! The indie-pop band became one of the most important indie-pop bands to watch in the Asian indie scene as soon as they released their debut single "Stay Away Go!". Colorful guitar phrases and bedroom-style beats sound over a sound based on dream pop and shoegaze. Supakarn Srisuwan's vocals, which seem to dance on top of the melodies, seem to accentuate the beauty of the melodies. It feels like when rock fans found Alvvays' "Archie, Marry Me" for the first time in 2014, or when Fazerdaze released "Lucky Girl" in 2017 and indie listeners instantly fell in love with it, it's a catchy, shocking, and perfect debut song.

"Indonesian rock trio Voice Of Baceprot (vob) have had to weather many challenges after they decided to carve a career in music. With the lack of music-related facilities in their village of Singajaya in Garut, West Java, they had to practically build their own modest practice studio. And they could only get a gig in the nearest city of Garut, three-and-a-half hours away. They had to face more significant adversities, namely the stigmas and unsolicited suggestions regarding religion and decency directed at them.

"You must remember that we come from a village where many see women as inferior to men. After completing high school, we did not have a lot of options. It was either work at home or for a relative at a convenience store. Or marry someone our parents choose," vocalist/guitarist Marsya recalls. It is a mindset that has survived from one generation to the other, even to this day. Hence, garnering support from even their family members became an uphill battle. ""No wonder only the three of us managed to come this far when you consider that VOB started with 15 members in 2014!"" drummer Sitti exclaims.

With all the setbacks that have come from all directions for an extended period, it is no surprise that they have played a massive part in developing VOB's character as a band and as individuals. Rather than dampening their spirits, however, they have moulded the trio to become stronger. "We have become rocks now. Hardened, rigid, and stiff due to all the doctrines in our minds. But through music and our friendship, we became fully aware that they must be cut through and broken regardless," Marsya explains. And from the trials and tribulations that they have had to suffer, VOB chose to name their debut album “Retas”. In Bahasa Indonesia, ""retas"" is ""a body of igneous rocks that breaks through by cutting through other rocks"". It epitomises how the band see themselves: igneous rocks, the end product of the socio-economic challenges that have shaped them into who they are now. ""Retas"" is a collection of songs that embody their solid determination to break free and carve out their path as a band, as musicians, and as independent women. With Ntrl guitarist Coki Bollemeyer at the helm as producer for the newer songs on the album, “Retas” comprises nine tracks, including album focus track “Age Oriented”, fan-favourite “What’s the Holy (Nobel) Today?”, “The Enemy of Earth is You”, instrumental track “Kawani”, and four previous singles that they have released since 2018, including their breakthrough single “School Revolution” and the smash hit “God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music”. ""We really enjoyed making this album, thanks in no small part to Coki. His support and appreciation towards the hard work we put into the process have made a huge difference. It gave us the energy and confidence to give our very best,"" Marsya acknowledges. Most of the songs have roots since VOB were still in middle school, each immaculately capturing their emotional responses to the variety of experiences they have gone through, transcribed and transformed into a combination of lyrics and melodies feeding off of raw energy and passion. Focus track ""Age Oriented"" is a protest song aimed towards age restriction that they once had to endure because they were playing rock music at such a young age. The piece lays bare their anger as tight and heavy riffs roar atop Sitti's groovy thumping beats and Widi's dexterous basslines. “More often than not, we were told it was ‘inappropriate and too soon’ and we ‘did not have enough experience’. There is a partiality towards age being the main benchmark to determine the merit of one’s artistic work. It meant the young must wait until they reach a certain age deemed worthy of independence to show their true potential,” Marsya remarks. The role of vocal director Irvan Natadiningrat has also become more significant in developing VOB's trademark sound. Take What's the Holy (Nobel) Today?"" for example. Irvan suggested the inclusion of the dramatic marching chant in the song. This powerful addition could make it the anti-war anthem for the modern generation. "The Enemy of Earth is You"" addresses the negative impacts of climate change. Never in their wildest dreams would they expect massive natural disasters to affect their village. Were they simply a show of might by nature's customary dynamics? Or are we, as human beings, to blame for our greed, ignorance, and narcissism? Writing instrumental “Kawani” felt fresh and intriguing for VOB. They had a unique opportunity to express their enthusiasm for Sundanese music, which they likewise hold in high regard. "In Sundanese, 'Kawani' means courage. This song represents the bravery with which we girls have refused to be treated as something ‘sweet and beautiful’. We are greater than that. That courage is reflected in the rhythms' dynamic quality. We may appear to be serene and unruffled, yet we can abruptly change into something else that is challenging to control,” according to Sitti.

Hailing from the northern Thai city of Nakhon Sawan, the shoegaze/post-hardcore band "Telever" was formed in 2018. After releasing their debut EP "Have A Good Health," they garnered attention for their unique musical style, blending heavy, beautiful shoegaze sounds with powerful hardcore elements. They gained fans beyond the confines of their genre, earning spots as support acts for world-renowned bands like Fiddlehead and Turnover.

After approximately five years since their formation, their debut album "Inside the Game" has finally been released. It encapsulates the intensity and chill of Telever's music, where genres intersect.

The album kicks off with "Whole," featuring heavy guitar sounds reminiscent of DIIV's "Deceiver," perfectly blended with Tae's vocals, creating a flawless shoegaze experience. "Today" swiftly transitions into the post-hardcore scene, with emotional shouts and vocals amidst shoegaze guitar sounds, serving as an introduction to Telever's sound.

"Ghost," the third track, not only embraces traditional shoegaze approaches but also delivers heated guitar sounds reminiscent of emo. Even with heavy sounds, the title track "Inside the Game" successfully incorporates influences from 2000s emo and punk, giving it a pop sensibility.

In "Always," the eighth track, they showcase a dream-pop-infused shoegaze style from a slightly different angle. From Asia to the world, "Goodbye" closes the album with a continuous display of fresh shoegaze sounds. Telever is poised to garner global attention with this album.

This is the definitive, fully edited recording of Friction's historic live performance at Kanagawa University in Japan in 1980 when Masatoshi Tsunematsu had still been in the band as a guitarist. Released in 1996, the year after "Zone Tripper" was released, this live album was welcomed by fans as an insight into early Friction live performances at a time when "'79 Live" was still hard to find. In the short six months since the release of "79 Live," it is clear that the trio has deepened to a frightening degree. The unusual prominence, solidity, and tightness of the performance were nothing short of tremendous. This is the long-awaited first Vinyl release of this dangerous, ruthlessly thrilling, and spectacular live album.

Group '' is a band that should be remembered along with toe, mouse on the keys, and others when looking back on the Japanese post-rock scene in the 2000s. This is a compilation album by three bands in the Kansai underground scene in the late 70s, including Hijokaidan, which laid the foundation for noise and industrial music in Japan. Since it was released two years before the first album "Zouroku no Kibyou" (1982) , this is sometimes regarded as Hijokaidan making their debut with this compilation. Decades after the release of this album, Japanese noise music stretched out their arms to the world.

xiexie, the Japanese four-piece band formed in early 2020, combines heavy influences from 00s indie rock music with Japanese vocals to create songs that are popular with a wide range of listeners and has performed at "fuji Rock Festival '22 and Synchronicity, as well as being picked up for opening act for Tommy Guerrero when he have came to play in Japan. This LP contains two digital EPs they released in 2022, and it's the first time in their career their music is available on LP vinyl.

Clammbon is a Japanese musical trio, consisting of vocalist / keyboardist Ikuko Harada, bassist Mito and drummer Daisuke Itou. Their music is characterized by their quirky sound combining jazzy chord progressions with J-pop and electronica influences. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Clammbon's 2003 album "imagination," P-vine will release "Folklore," a song from the album that is particularly popular as a standard song in their setlists, on a 10-inch EP with the special etched vinyl. In 2007, a remixed version of this song called "Imaginary Folklore" by Nujabes was released and it began to gain listeners not only in Japan but also overseas. It is no exaggeration to say that it is now one of the most iconic songs of Clammbon.

There are still many of the common concerns of mellow dream pop expressed in their previous albums, such as love, nostalgia and loneliness, but in addition, social and serious themes are now also mentioned in the lyrics. 'Modern Western World' has been updated to reflect the times, but the musical quality is certainly at a top level, and with the help of many talented artists, such as Barrie, Munya, Floor Cry, Pink Siifu, Mick Jenkins, India Shawn, Aseul, it's a great piece of work.

"downt" is a three-piece band formed in Tokyo in 2021 by Yui Togashi (Gt/Vo), Takaaki Kawai (Ba) and Tener Ken Robert (Dr). Influenced by kind of post-hardcore and math rock brought to the world by 80-90s American labels such as Dischord Records and Ebullition Records, their delicate yet developed performances with a sense of urgency brought about by complex guitar phrases, and songs are written with an outstanding sense of melody and emotional words which is making the band can stand beyond categorize of music style. The songs are written with superb melodies and emotional language that sets them apart from other artists. Togashi's gently and sharply impassioned vocals also help to express their stance with genre-defying music and spirituality.

The 10" ep, released ahead of the new album, will include the epic '13th Moon', an over 8-minute track that was created to break new ground as a band. This is a song that gives you a sense of strength that gently pushes you back in the uncertain haze of everyday life that seems to go on forever. Sai’s voice, still as exhilarating as it was during Mangekyo, bursts forward from the depths of droning synthesizer and distorted guitar. Her clear, wordless vocalizations and sparse percussion playing fill sonic space, juxtaposed sharply with the undulating movement of the underlying drone, to create an atmosphere both meditative and breathtakingly beautiful. Fans of the melody-driven snarl of Shintaro Sakamoto records and the Japanese folk-rock traditions of Happy End will surely find much to like in the crunching leads of “Madam the Whisper”. Always shape-shifting to avoid being boxed into a sound, the opposing tension in the guitars of “Landline Boogie” finds Ide’s reaching for the falsetto, and his catchy multi-layered vocals draw pleasing comparisons to of Montreal and Ezra Furman.

Compiling three studio EPs and a live recording, this LP is the culmination of Hovlakin’s short but eventful career. Originally formed in 1979 by Taro Morishita (vo.) and Hosho Aoki (Dr.) in Saga prefecture, what started out as a fun project between Mahjong buddies quickly grew to become one of the most respected bands in the Japanese no-wave scene. With a quirky sense of humor and unique imagery Hovlakin manages to still sound fresh, nearly 40 years after their last release.

Since his beginnings in 1970 as the vocalist of the band Lost Alaaf, Haino has spread his work across multiple genres, pushing the limits as a tireless explorer of free-form experimentation. It was with the intense psychedelic soundscapes of Fushitsusha, formed in 1978, that his live set earned a formidable reputation. The band’s debut, released by legendary Tokyo label PSF Records in 1989, was a live album that, together with its 1991 follow-up, were described by now-defunct Stylus Magazine as “some of the most incredible performances ever committed to tape”.

For this latest release, Haino returned to Tokyo’s legendary Gok Sound Studio with guitarist Masami Kawaguchi (New Rock Syndicate), bassist Shingo Nauke and drummer Toshihiko Katano as Keiji Haino and the Hardy Rocks - a project they formed in 2016. You're either standing facing me or next to me consists of ten cover songs of some of the most covered songs in the history of western popular music (plus a cover of his own with ‘Black Petal’). In true Haino fashion, expect the unexpected with complete structural reworks, and creative turns only the master of dark textures could ever conceive.

“I am the Shizuoka Mick Jagger” snarls the lead singer of Shizuoka Rock’n’Roll Kumiai on opening track 'Schon No Rock' of their only LP Eikyu Hozonban. The year was 1973, and this band of energetic high school students from Shizuoka prefecture - a sunny region nestled along the coast south of Tokyo - were summoning a storm. As with other groups of their generation such as Flower Travellin’ Band and Happy End, the influence of western records from the 60s in their sound is undeniable, but like the aforementioned bands, it would be wrong to measure their sound by how much they achieve likeness with other acts. What we have on this first ever double LP reissue are eleven tracks of uncompromising DIY spirit and outspoken Japanese youthful revolt.

When the singer’s not Mick Jagger, he's a slurring Bob Dylan impersonator act on bluesy 'Rainbow Queen,' balancing confidently on trippy slide guitars. 'Okane Ga Ichiban' starts off like a Small Faces garage rock number that progressively takes a turn for the weird as harsh vocal harmonies haunt the background, and the singer falls under the spell of his yelping desires for money. 'Onna to Aka' with its acid guitars and pulsing primitive drum-machine-like percussion falls somewhere between Suicide and Chrome, and its sudden eruptions of percussion are addictively poised. P-vine is thrilled to reissue Eikyuu Hozonban on limited edition vinyl with an iconic Japanese obi-strip, and bring back the booming creative underground of 70s Japan.

Since the early 00s, downy have been building a fury of sound with delicately poised countenance. Their blend of post-rock, glitch and electronics goes through a number of transformations with every release, and this latest reissue of their fifth full album from 2013 pushed the limits, and reshaped their creative processes. For nearly twenty years, downy were a mainstay among felicity records’ roster, and this limited edition LP is the first time it's been pressed on vinyl. Shinji Miyake’s 2021 album The Red Rocks arrives on vinyl for the first time with this limited edition pressing from P-vine. Having reached his 60th birthday milestone, this album sees Miyake full of celebration as he strived to keep spirits high during a tough pandemic year. Across these eleven tracks, his energy and passion for blues and soul hasn’t dwindled for a moment since emerging in the 80s with his band Mojo Club. Expect triumphant melodies from his trusty brass band, as Miyake toasts to old times and new.

One for the Japanese shoegaze fanatics, this new split 7" single features two of Japan’s most exciting outfits plundering waves in hazy distortion. For Tracy Hyde follow-up last year’s politically charged Ethernity with their guitars still rallying with forward momentum with their version of “Parfait Parfait”. Four-member idol group RAY bring up the B side with their rendition of the same track, and a new generation's approach to song crafting indie rock with an idol core philosophy.

Zezeco is a new electronic project from Robin Aoki and Manukan, and together they will release their debut album Sanzen on felicity Records on CD and LP format. Musically, the duo meet somewhere in the middle of Aoki’s heavy post-rock sound that he conjures with the band downy and Manukan’s techno impulses he delivers via Okinawa. The layered textures make hairs stand on end when exposed to the darkly swaying rhythms and trip-hop cores of these sound-excavating tracks. We expect grand things to come from this electric combination.

Back in 2014, Alvvays had the world in their hands. As a sum of their parts, the guitars jangled like they did in the 80s, the drums felt lifted from Scottish classic records where the snares rattled through reverberating halls, and Molly Rankin’s vocals towered above in dreamy horizons. As a unit, the band produced a string of some of the best indie-pop singles seen this side of the century. “Not My Baby” and “Next of Kin” are included on the special edition 7” single from P-vine.

Coming to you live from the Hibiya Open-air Concert Hall, indie-rockers Otogivanashi bring out their inner James-Dean for a set of high-octane bangers as they look back on their debut record Rebel Without A Cause. There’s much to adore with these throw-back romantics; combining sounds from the 70s with the glorified charisma-driven rock spirit of Lou Reed and Jonathan Richman, and spinning it with their unique Japanese flair. Fan favourites ‘Neon Boys' and ‘smile’ are now etched into their live sets, and within these twelve tracks there's much to admire from the band formed in Tokyo. P-vine is delighted to be reissuing their first record with a new remaster, and new artwork from the talented Satoshi Jinbo.

Following on from their latest album Remember, Spangle Call Lilli Line are back with their new 7" single release "she is". Spangle have produced 12 albums since forming in 1998 in Tokyo’s Shimokitazawa district, and with their brand of electronica-infused dream-pop they have been quietly building upon their approach to building subtle melodies and colouring in night-time playlists. Expect a post-punk turn of approach from the leading A-side as they make strides towards their next album. The B side "near you" is a remix of the closing track on Remember - a delicately put together ballad by Jin Yoshida of legendary new-wave outfit Salon Music.

A record made when Yapoos supposedly weren't making music, this latter career EP first materialised on their Tokyo and Osaka 1999 tour, and is a must have for any Yapoos enthusiast. Fresh from the aftertaste of drum&bass records reaching Japanese shores in the late 90s, this collection of tracks veers even further in the direction of electronic than those that came before it doing away with guitars and acoustic drums altogether. The unmistakable vocal arrangements of Jun Togawa however assure the listener that these were never core elements, and as the case with all Yapoos records the beating heart follows on the heels of Togawa and the rallying cries from the underlying industrial production.

This EP would also see Togawa's developing interest in spoken word with the floating poetry of second track "Hamushi" and the final track "(something else)" - a tribute to Togawa's love of radio drama series and in particular the one-person-three-roles performances that grant its narrator the chance to roam free from the constraints of a single body.
