“Teal” is a collaborative project between 3 artists hailing from the sunny South of England. This album is made up of Slim & Ella Mae, who both recently featured on Gilles Peterson's latest compilation on Brownswood Recordings, and Benaddict who just dropped his debut LP ‘Garden Of England’ on YoGoCop Records. Together the trio has combined their talents and put together this soulful, jazz tinged, 12 track LP.

Slim laces the album with his signature style of laid back, jazzy production, while Benaddict & Ella Mae provide us with humble, heartfelt and thought provoking lyrics and vocals throughout. Label co-founders Joey Deez & Doug (Remulak) had long discussed the concept of creating a compilation album in order to showcase the wide rage of styles that comprise the imprint's eclectic output.

In May of this year, the pair decided that the time had come to put their vision into action and began planning the compilation to be ready to celebrate the label's fifth anniversary in December 2020. Sadly, just weeks after the decision had been made, Joey Deez unexpectedly passed away. This compilation represents the last of the project that Joey had planned, and was curated and executed with his tastes firmly in mind.

Seeing himself as a social commentator, Coops continuously draws inspiration from everything around him and is feeling more inspired than ever. In his last musical offering, Ramson Badbonez took us through the conceptual ‘Year In The Life Of Oscar The Slouch’, a gritty seasonal account of the harsh realities of London inner city street life. This June, the illusive skull clad lyricist makes his grand return to the airwaves with his brand new collaborative effort alongside producer DJ Fingerfood entitled ‘Hypnodic’. As the title suggests, this is a much more cerebral journey onto the astral plains of the mind of Ramson Badbonez.
