Limited to 600 copies. A one-time pressing with this cover. An exclusive only available at Fatbeats in the US and HHV for rest of the world. For all DJs, graffiti enthusiasts and collectors. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Non Phixion’s seminal LP, The Future Is Now, Uncle Howie Records is pleased to announce the release of an acappella version of the album for the first time!
Comprised of group members ILL Bill, Lord Goat (f/k/a Goretex), Sabac Red and DJ Eclipse, The Future Is Now remains the group’s sole full length effort, garnering much acclaim among both critics and fans alike. Considered by many as an underground classic, Tfin boasts a production dream team that includes DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Large Professor, with additional production supplied by JuJu of The Beatnuts, Dave 1 of Chromeo, T-Ray and Necro.

But it’s the production on this release that’s absent from this version, as producers, remixers and deejays the world over will for the first time have access to these previously vaulted acappellas, allowing you to flex your creative ingenuity. In addition to NP vocals, the album features vocal appearances from MF Doom, Necro, The Beatnuts, Al Tariq, Marly Metal and Moonshine.

To boot, what makes this acappella release all the more special, is that the LP jacket will feature an overhauled version of the right half of the never before seen ‘final’ mural illustrated by Mear One. Why just the right half you ask? Well Uncle Howie Records will also be releasing an instrumental version of the album which hasn’t been made available on vinyl in nearly 20 years—also as a 2XLP—which will feature the left half of the mural, making this a true collector’s edition to reel in the milestone!

This acappella version of The Future Is Now is set for release on March 24th via Uncle Howie Records in partnership with Fat Beats Distribution.

First time ever that an acappella version of the album has been made available! Contains bonus acappellas for They Got and Refuse To Lose. When purchased with the instrumental version, both album covers will form an overhauled version of the ‘final’ Mear One designed mural, making this a true collector’s piece.

With additional production supplied by JuJu of The Beatnuts, Dave 1 of Chromeo, T-Ray and Necro, this special edition instrumental offering is sure to be a treasure for both fans of the group, as well as true school audiophiles the world over. To boot, this release marks the first time the instrumentals have been made available on vinyl in nearly 20 years!

“Strange Universe” was birthed amongst the numerous blunted, Colt 45 malt liquor-fueled sessions Non Phixion had with Doom at their Area 51 studio in Canarsie in '98. Necro provided the beat, which everyone thought sounded like something Doom would have made. It was one of the first songs recorded for “The Future Is Now".

With a hardcore mind & explicit tongue, prolific NY rapper/producer ILL Bill keeps the spirit of underground hip-hop alive with an affinity for dusty sampling & a lyrical spectrum that ranges from vulgar & horrific to deeply insightful & pained. Bill was influenced by the violent & profane, employing dark subject matter to convey messages that often had more depth beneath the surface shock factor.

Emerging in the early '90s, he joined MC Serch (3rd Bass), Sabac, Goretex & DJ Eclipse to form seminal rap crew Non Phixion. Signing with both Geffen Records & Matador Records (and then parting ways with both), while issuing acclaimed 12" singles like "I Shot Reagan" & "Black Helicopters", Non Phixion caused no shortage of controversy, pushing Bill to start Uncle Howie Records for the Brooklyn-based crew to finally unleash its debut LP, "The Future Is Now", in 2002.

In 2007, ILL Bill co-founded La Coka Nostra with rap legends House Of Pain & Slaine. Bill also makes up half of the super duo, Heavy Metal Kings, trading verses with the legendary Vinnie Paz.

Now as we approach the end of 2020, Bill prepares to unleash his new solo album "La Bella Medusa". LBM delivers some of Bill's best work to date, boasting incredible features from Tech N9ne, Pharoahe Monch, Conway, Kool G Rap, Vinnie Paz & many more. Bill is constantly evolving as an artist & with LBM he shows diversity & shines alongside his guests all the whilst giving you exactly what you want to hear from the Cult Leader.

Black Metal was the forecast of what was to come with the introduction of La Coka Nostra. Non Phixion front man ILL BILL had recently joined up with Danny Boy, Slaine and others to start working on a new powerhouse group. With friends from both coasts like Sick Jacken, Q-Unique, Killah Priest, Jeru The Damaja, O.C. and more joining in, this release takes a look at the music BILL was recording after Non Phixion disbanded and as LCN was forming.

Cannibal Hulk is the collaboration between producer Stu Bangas and lyricist ILL BILL. Prior to ever working together both Bill and Stu traveled in similar circles. Both heavily worked with Vinnie Paz (Jedi Mind Tricks/AOTP) which led to Stu being on Bill's The Grimy Awards and Bill being featured on Stu’s albums with Esoteric and Blacastan. Having worked together on those tracks is what led to the manifestation of this project. Add to the scenario their love of comic books and the concept
Cannibal Hulk was born. With both feeling most at home with aggressive music, this album sonically sounds exactly as it’s title indicates. Can Hulk features Vinnie Paz, Goretex, Slaine, Snak The Ripper and DJ Eclipse
