As ever with our beloved Wouldn't Waste Records - this is a first time on vinyl release! Joy Zipper is an American indie pop duo from Long Island, New York, made up of Tabitha Tindale and Vincent Cafiso, who are also a married couple. The duo has been playing dream pop since the late 1990s. The band is named for Tindale's mother. Their songs are underpinned with darker scarred lyrics (suggested in interviews to have been inspired by the death of Cafiso's father) causing them to be famously compared to, 'a candy apple with a razor blade inside'. Musical influences of the band vary from 1960s rock outfits The Beatles, The Velvet Underground and most associated, The Beach Boys, to early 1990s noise rock pioneers My Bloody Valentine, The Breeders. "Joy Zipper's second album American Whip is as sun-kissed and blissful as their first. Which is to say very much so. Sort of like a sunny take on the Jesus and Mary Chain circa Darklands, the band works the same straightforward noise-dipped-in-honey-approach as the Jamc. Only instead of Jim and William Reid's sneers, we get Vincent Cafiso and Tabitha Tindale's sweet as sugar vocals and harmonies." * * * * - allmusic.com - Riyl Dreampop / Shoegaze / Independent, for fans of J&mc, Beach House, Mazzy Star, Wild Nothing, Ride, Stars, Dean & Britta/Luna/Galaxie 500, Throwing Muses, Blushing

First Ever Lp Version, Classic Black Vinyl! Wouldn't Waste Records Provides Us With A Reissue Of 2007 Cowboy Junkies "Family" Concept Album, For The First Time Ever On Vinyl. After Last Years Rereleased "Open", The Next Cd Album From The Cowboy Junkies Sees The Light Of Vinyl Day. "In Other Words, This Is Not A Typical -- And There Is Such A Thing As A Typical -- Cowboy Junkies Recording. [...] What At The End Of Paths Taken Means For The Cowboy Junkies: It's Like A Renaissance. The Emotion Margo Infuses These Lyrics With And The Tautness Of The Musical Performances Are Anything But Lithe Or Lazy. They're Hungry. - Allmusic.Comyou Probably Think You Know What The New Cowboy Junkies Record Sounds Like. You Don't. Yes, The Trademarks Are There. How Could It Be Otherwise After Two Decades? But They're All Twisted, Re-Evaluated, Renewed. Songs No Longer Draw Life From The Understated, Almost Unheard Pulse Of Alan Anton's Bassline, A Sound That Now Propels Undulating Melodies On "Mountain" Or "My Little Basquiat". Anton Almost Switches Places With Margo Timmins, Still The Most Arresting Voice In The Game, Yet Buried Deeper Inside These Songs, Songs Which Create A Surround Sound Universe Of Their Own, Be It From Plaintive Acoustics Like "Someday Soon" Or The Kitchen Sink Overload Of "Mountain", Where All Hell Breaks Loose. Tomorrow Never Knew. - Dave Bowler

Except for a very limited vinyl on demand series, this Steve Wynn solo album has never been available on LP before.Beneath still going strong with THE DREAM SYNDICATE, Steve Wynn has relased more than a dozen proper solo records since the early 90s.Steve Wynn went from the lower reaches of the Los Angeles underground music scene to major critical acclaim practically overnight with the release of the Dream Syndicate's debut album, The Days of Wine and Roses, in 1982. Being part of the Paisley Underground (the neo-'60s Southern California scene that included next to Dream Syndicate also The Bangles, Green on Red, Rain Parade) proved to be the first act in a long and fascinating career in which Wynn matured into one of the canniest songwriters in rock, penning smart, flinty lyrics that told perceptive tales of human behavior both noble and otherwise, married to tough, engaging melodies full of muscular guitar work. Wynn launched his solo career with 1990's Kerosene Man...Sweetness and Light blends the '60s psychedelic pop of The Beatles and The Byrds with the punk intensity of groups like The Velvet Underground and The Kinks. The album magically captures the furious intensity of Wynn's concert performances and blends it with the brilliant pop-oriented production of Wynn and John Agnello. Agnello has previously worked on albums by Dinosaur Jr. and Patti Smith. "I honestly think this is my best sounding record and a lot of the credit has to go to John Agnello," said Wynn. The album follows the same blueprint as 1996' Melting in the Dark, finding Steve Wynn exploring the feedback-drenched, psychedelicized rock that was/is his signature with the Dream Syndicate. While it's not as heavy as its predeccessor, the record has a grander array of sonic textures and a number of well-crafted songs that make it worthwhile for longtime fans. The album's kicks off with the adrenaline-pumping air travel nightmare of Silver Lining and never looks back. The title track pushes off Linda Pitmon's powerful cade...

First time ever on LP! To much delight of all Feelies fans in the world, Wouldn't Waste Records presents the second Wake Ooloo album on classic black vinyl Wake Ooloo was less a Feelies spin-off band and more of a temporary sequel. In absence of original Feelies' drummer Million , singer/guitarist's Mercer's musical partnership with drummer Dave Weckerman, a sometimes-uncredited Feelies percussionist who joined the band officially in 1983, fully blossoms with Gambino at Wake Ooloo. Following the Feelies' increasingly polished efforts for A&M, Wake Ooloo continued in the Feelies' tradition of jangling guitars, atmospheric percussion, and a deep Velvet Underground streak, but took a far looser approach -- a direct result of the meticulous Million's absence. Released three years after the Feelies' Time for a Witness, Wake Ooloo's debut Hear No Evil felt similar in spirit to the anarchic joy of early Feelies live bootlegs, though the sound would grow tempered with the successive album What About It. While Mercer wrote the majority of the band's material, Weckerman and others contributed original songs, as well. For fans of the Feelies, Wake Ooloo are as worth exploring as the Trypes or Yung Wu or more, given that they were Mercer's primary outlet for three full albums in the 90s.
