18g TechniHard™ adjustable headshell with AT6101 quad wire.

A 18g adjustable headshell manufactured from TechniHard™ material, complete with AT6101 quad wire. The AT-LH13/OCC has an adjustable overhang and adjustable azimuth, as well as internal headshell threads to avoid the use of nuts when fitting cartridges.
The headshell is equipped with four AT6101 PCOCC lead wires, high purity, oxygen free, with a structure of 22 strands of 0.12mm and 24 carat gold plated terminals.

The LH-2000 is a basic high quality headshell designed specifically for HiFi applications. Providing a clean, minimalist aesthetic, the LH-2000 is great for a wide variety of cartridges, e.g. the 2M Series .

Knowing the fundamental headshell dimensions will in a lot of cases make it easier to mount and align cartridge and tonearm correctly. Please scroll to the bottom of the page to see the headshells mounting dimensions chart.

It allows you to adjust the height from 0.5 mm to 3.5 mm in precise steps of 0.5 mm - without removing the tone arm. Simply loosen the screws, insert the AS-spacer, then lock the screws back down, and you're tonearm is ready to play.

Ease of use
Top-mounting of the Quintet cartridges is easy and secure using the screws supplied. The aluminuim frame has threaded mounting holes and is fitted easily with the 5mm or 7mm screws depending on the thickness of the headshell.

The Quintet series’ right angles, straight lines, stylus visibility and ample distance between the record surface and the cartridge’s bottom will make it easy to mount and align the cartridge and tonearm correctly. The Quintet Series gives excellent results with most common tonearms.

The 2M 78 features an improved engine, which provides a high level of sonic accuracy. The stylus' tip is a Spherical diamond that is perfect for playback of 78 rpm shellac records, which require a larger stylus profile. The cartridge body is manufactured from Hopelex, which ensures high rigidity while eliminating unwanted resonances.

2M 78 uses a strapped output to deliver the same output signal from both sets of pole pins. This effectively eliminates the need for mono-specific equipment, making it possible to enjoy true mono reproduction on any stereo playback system.

The Goldring 1006 is designed for owners who want to get the very best from their systems at a budget price. This cartridge has an elliptical tip for improved high frequency clarity and a powerful magnet to ensure high sensitivity.

This hand-built cartridge features an elliptical stylus; its shape enables it to more accurately trace the highest frequency record grooves giving it the advantage over ordinary spherical types. The lightweight shank also gives the stylus a lower tip mass than cheaper metal bonded types lending the cartridge an improved transient response.

Low Mass Pocan® Body
The 1000 series uses a strong one piece body which holds the fixed parts securely in place. Made from a special type of ultra-rigid, glass reinforced polyester called Pocan, the body can be tightly bolted to the head shell for maximum efficiency and optimum sound quality. The user replaceable stylus carrier slots tightly into the body with a locating pin preventing unwanted vibrations which would otherwise colour the sound. An integral mu-metal can keeps the generator parts shielded from hum-inducing stray magnetic fields. Because Pocan has a high strength-to-mass ratio, the overall mass of the G1000 series cartridges is kept below 6.5 g. Low mass and moderate compliance keep the natural arm/cartridge resonance within safe limits for easy matching to a wide range of tonearms.

High Efficiency Magnetic Circuit
Finely etched mu-metal is laminated to form the pole pieces around which are fitted two formerless coils of four thousand turns each. This unique design reduces mass and also makes for a very efficient magnetic circuit producing a higher than average output. This construction also reduces the loss at high frequencies inherent in conventional designs, making for a smooth and extended frequency response.

Reduced Moving Mass
The 1000 series uses a unique ultra-low-mass, micro-miniature Alnico V magnet made to a tolerance that can be achieved by no other manufacturer worldwide. Welded to the magnet is a gold plated nickel tie-bar which provides an earth path for vinyl static charge build up and stabilses the cantilever in unwanted vibrational modes. The whole ultra-low-mass assembly is then mounted in a special butyl rubber polymer with optimised damping characteristics.

Expert Adjustment
The correct setting of stylus azimuth (or horizontal tracking angle) is essential for the maintenance of a proper stereo sound stage. Azimuth is the term used to describe the angle that the vertical centre-line of the stylus makes with the record surface and this must be exactly perpendicular to the record groove. Badly adjusted azimuth can cause uneven channel balance and increased crosstalk between channels which would severely degrade the stereo image.

AUDIO-TECHNICA’S INTERNATIONALLY-PATENTED DUAL MAGNET DESIGN REPLICATES THE STRUCTURE OF THE CUTTER HEAD.
Instead of using a single, large magnet, the two magnets are arranged in the shape of a "V". A permalloy centre shield plate enables the effective separation of left and right channels, suppressing electrical crosstalk to below 40dB. This is similar to the actual crosstalk value found in the grooves of the record itself.

The 2M Series is developed in conjunction with the Danish Industrial designer Møller Jensen Design – the same designer who designed the award winning MC Jubilee and Kontrapunkt series. Inspired by the facets of a diamond, whose contours gracefully trace the grooves on a record’s surface, the 2M’s handsome elegance establishes a great combination of form and functionality.

The name 2M was selected from among several ideas. We wanted a modern name that would be easy to pronounce and remember, and therefore an alphanumerical name was chosen. 2M means MM, which is the abbreviation for moving magnet.

GT Replacement stylus for tough handling - extremely sturdy for scratching DJs
GT was developed by Ortofon in close co-operation with SWS Audio GmbH. The cartridge was named "Great and Tough" and was based on the construction of the well-known Ortofon Series 500 design - mend for standard half inch mounting - in a black housing with white printing.

The vital parts in the GT are based on a very robust and reliable parts used in Scratch. Further, during development of GT, efforts were also concentrated on supplying a very high output of 8 mV and improvement of frequency response to give higher resolution and sound image.

Tracking avility is decisive for the DJs especially when scratching and back-cuing. In this situation raise of tracking force could be an immediate, but in many cases not very effective solution. The reason is that the antiskating adjustment, if not at a very moderate level, will double the skating effect when back-cuing.

As a rule, never use more than half of normal antiskating related to the tracking force! To make GT even more resistant against violent handling, such as drop or touch of fingers, we have made a rubber suspension of the cantilever even more rigid against axial pull.
