"All my friends were playing in these bass-guitar-drum bands," speaks Jens Lekman, casting his mind back over twenty years to his first rudimentary experiments with sampling using his father's old cassette recorder, and an instinct to create music that would set him far apart from his Swedish pop peers. "I'm going to sound like Scott Walker. But I'm going to do it in my bedroom." Works of sweeping, maximalist, orchestral wonder sung in a sumptuous tenor, weaving lifts from obscure fleamarket vinyl records with by turns burningly romantic and mordantly funny true-life tales from the sleepy-shadowy suburbs of Gothenburg - Lekman's early songs come from a different time, a different place. An era when the internet was young, limitless and disruptive, sample culture was turning music inside out, and anything felt possible. After initially finding an audience through peer-to-peer file sharing sites, Lekman signed to Secretly Canadian Records in 2003, and went on to release a slew of cherished material, including three cult limited-edition EPs - Maple Leaves, Rocky Dennis and Julie - later collected on the 2005 compilation album Oh You're So Silent Jens. His DIY fantasias found their fullest and most celebrated form in 2007 on his second album proper, the exquisite Night Falls Over Kortedala - Lekman's self-professed "dream record". It went to number one in Sweden and was later hailed as one of the 200 best albums of the 2000s by Pitchfork, as well as one of the top 100 albums of the 21st century so far by The Guardian. Now, like Oh You're So Silent Jens, it no longer exists in its original form. Oh You're So Silent Jens enigmatically disappeared in 2011; Night Falls Over Kortedala followed suit in early 2022. Lekman's impulse for giving old music fresh life and context has led him to remake the records under new names, each delicately positioned in dialogue with the past - the same albums, just different. The Cherry Trees Are Still In Blossom and The Linden Trees Are Still In Blossom are a pair of lovingly and painstakingly assembled reduxes each keeping the same core tracklisting, spirit and source material as the originals, but blending brand new versions of some tracks, in part or in whole, together with many tracks left largely as they were. Both records are fleshed out with rare, previously unreleased, and even previously unfinished old songs, as well as other contemporaneous material such as cassette diaries. On The Cherry Trees, two of Lekman's best-loved early breakout singles are completely reimagined - `Maple Leaves' as a tender ballad burnished with warm strings; tragi-comic illegal taxi ride to oblivion `Black Cab' in two different versions, a handsome full band pop song and a gentle acoustic lullaby. The Linden Trees repackages all the true-life tales, magic, and mystery of Night Falls for a new age, yet in wholly familiar form, from the joyous `The Opposite of Hallelujah' to hilariously uplifting missive `A Postcard to Nina' and open-hearted love-song `Your Arms Around Me'. Taken together, the new albums form a sort of belated farewell to Lekman's formative days as a bedroom Scott Walker, panning for sample gold in stacks of vintage vinyl. Albeit not a farewell to the original albums themselves, which will live on in fans' record collections, and perhaps illicit corners of the internet. Spread to the wind. "I feel like these new records are like portals that can lead you to the old records if you want," Lekman reflects. "I think that they can lead you to another time and a place, where you could work with music in a different way."

of bodies—the latest Oh Sees, Face Stabber! Boop, blip, ughhh….
people churning like a boiling swamp. Man, this din is nauseating.
The screen flickers for the first time this year with a transmission from
two months in the future: “the internet has deemed guitar music dead
and you are free to do whatever the fuck you like ….long live the new
flesh!”
This album is Soundcloud hip-hop reversed, a far flung nemesis
of contemporary country and flaccid algorithmic pop-barf. No songs
about money or love are floating in the ether. Just memories, echoes,
foggy blurs, blip-blop goes the scope, heavy funk, dystopia-punk
canons, long jams, bloated solos dribbling down your cavedin
chest. Human cattle like a beef avalanche, right on your burned
out face hole. Spider-legs fuzz crawling in your brain. Lots of curse
words for your mom. You’ve gotten the over-population blues, so
let’s have some art for art’s sake. What else are you gonna do? Stare
at the sky? Please…fifty carbon copies of you look back at you as you
walk the streets. Take a breath, you’re going to need it. Take drugs,
you’re going to need those just to stand in line at the air and water
reclamation center soon enough. There’s no fruit, buddy. You’re at the
bleak-peak. They will squeeze you till you’re all squeezed out.
For fans of fried prog burn-out, squished old-school drool,
double drums, lead weight bass, wizard keys (now with poison),
old-ass guitar and horrible words with daft meanings. If you don’t
like it then don’t listen, bub. Back to the comments section with you!

Space Elevator’s third album, Persona Non Grata is their most ambitious so far and creates an almost cinematic feel. The album showcases the band’s eclectic style and abilities but is also their heaviest album to date. The songs are underpinned by hooks and musical motifs throughout complimenting The Duchess’ soaring vocals and multi layered harmonies. Previous album “Space Elevator II” reached the top 30 of the official UK Rock chart and number 16 on the official UK Indie chart. Space Elevator was formed by guitarist David Young and flamboyant lead singer The Duchess. The line up is completed by Brian Greene (drums) and Chas Maguire (bass) Releasing their debut album in 2015, the band produces contemporary rock albums that draw on the influences of the best and biggest artists in rock history while creating their own uniquely identifiable sound. Space Elevator did their first headline UK tour in 2018 with additional headline and festival dates in 2019 and early 2020. They were preparing for a European tour in April 2020 with legendary songwriter/musician Russ Ballard when Covid subsequently appeared. The Duchess will be performing with rock band Thunder on their arena tour in May 2022. She has also performed with Steven Van Zandt and Richie Sambora. David Young was one of the guitarists in the Queen show We Will Rock You at The Dominion in London’s West End and produced the number 1 album "Magical Mystery Guitar Tour” by Carlos Bonell.

Remastered and released for the very first time! Blue & Transparent Tan vinyl - limited to 1000 copies Riyl: Kids In The Hall, Devo, Butthole Surfers, Ween, John Waters, Yoko Ono Mouth Congress - friends Paul Bellini and Scott Thompson of Kids In The Hall fame - wrote and recorded hundreds of songs in the 0s without ever putting out a proper release. Alongside various cohorts and conspirators, the band drew on their experiences as gay men to craft hilariously crude punk songs that run the gamut of strange characters and taboo subject matter. Their rag tag approach to songwriting blended various styles from noisy punk to lo-fi new wave and DIY disco, all with a very gay bent. Without trying, they were surprisingly cutting edge. Mouth Congress did dozens of live shows through the mid-80s that gained a reputation for being theatrical, combining props, sets, multiple costume changes, unusual song choices, guest stars, and Scott's stand-up comedy. In 1988, they recorded a 7-song demo tape. The tracks were recorded quickly, as the Kids in the Hall were about to go to New York City to develop their material. Then, caught up in the excitement of the Kids in the Hall being signed to television, Mouth Congress activities slowed to a crawl. In 2011, Paul dug out an old VHS tape of one of the live shows. The sight of one of the Kids in the Hall covered in sweat, writhing on stage like Iggy Pop, was something he felt comedy fans might enjoy seeing. Naturally, Scott agreed and they uploaded everything - over 600 recordings - onto Bandcamp. One day in 2019, Mike Sniper of Captured Tracks stumbled upon the Bandcamp page, got in touch, and suggested assembling a compilation of the best recordings to be officially released for the very first time. Waiting for Henry is a collection of 29 tracks over 2 LPs with a booklet of interviews and ephemera from one of the 0s last queercore bands.Who is Henry? We don't really know, but we certainly hope he shows up soon.

In the autumn/winter of 2010, Singapore-based April Lee and Ricks Ang of Aspidistrafly (also founders of Kitchen. Label) embarked on the recording of their second album A Little Fable in Japan in collaboration with several artists. Fascinated by the patina of time and themes of folklore, A Little Fable narrates a surrealist procession of tales, twelve compositions simmering one into the other lyrically and picturesquely. This album sees the duo returning to a warm, organic palette of closely-whispered vocals, fingerpicked guitar, string arrangements and their trademark texture-focused arrangements. Featuring guest collaborators Kyo Ichinose, Seigen Tokuzawa, haruka nakamura, Junya Yanagidaira (ironomi), honagayoko, Akira Kosemura, Janis Crunch and more.

A dusty bottom drawer of forgotten memoirs is unlocked, and the album opens with a mourning, solitary cello while a harmonium drone forebodes an oscillating motif of glockenspiel tones, or sprinkled stars if you will. In Landscape With A Fairy, a tale of loss and longing during the earliest dawn mist – the world in its daily transition – is daubed in the hues of intensified sunlight, foliage or shadows, only to be diffused and faded by time, not unlike Andrei Tarkovsky’s polaroids of the Russian countryside. April Lee’s intimate vocals and acoustic guitar gently break the silence of a cold morning, backed by graceful string flourishes arranged by Kyo Ichinose. Kitchen. Label’s very own haruka nakamura and Junya Yanagidaira (ironomi) add harmonizing colors of the guitar and piano respectively.

Tracing the mysterious migration routes of nocturnal animals, Homeward Waltz skips home along a breadcrumbed-path with ephemeral glimpses of forest sights, ornamented by violins and other curious sounds before fulminating into a amorphous guitar drone, as Seigen Tokuzawa’s improvised cello strokes drift and wander with split-second apparitions in the night sky. Sounds of wooden creaks and early morning spoon-in-coffee stirrings permeate the spontaneous atmosphere of Cocina. honagayoko’s quaint and chopped piano phrases waltz with spliced vocals and flute.

Emerging from the darkened foliage into a vast, cryptic hemisphere, the second half of the album teeters on the frailty and transitoriness of the world. A Little Fable’s voyage reaches a turning point by SEA OF Glass. Ricks Ang constructs a prolonged arpeggio of sonorous looping guitar motifs that float in and out of focus, reverberating almost like a narcotic percussion across tumultuous oceans. Now distanced and gauzy, sounds of surging waves open Countless White Moons in a misty indefiniteness, yet held together charmingly by Akira Kosemura’s luminous piano. The elusive narration in Language OF Flowers tells of a deliberate escape from the passage of time with a folkloric enchantress who wordlessly casts her spells. In Gensei, April Lee relates an unspoken anguish in her tender, wavering vibrato while Janis Crunch’s somber piano and chorus vocals loom like a harbinger of death. The last chapter Twinkling Fall, the second track to feature haruka nakamura, now shuts the drawer of secrets, dissipated monochrome colours restored once again to full bloom.

A Little Fable is available on CD and the digital format on 15th December 2011. The physical CD copy comes in a 48-page artbook edition (21 x 15cm) featuring photographs and collages by April Lee and Miu Nozaka, with styling by Rika M. Orrery, who have, from their expeditions during the making of this album, directed a dream sequence around the encompassing atmosphere of a secluded hilltop cottage, a forest hued in the splendor of autumn and distant, rocky shores.

To be clear, Tig Notaro’s second album is titled LIVE [liv, verb]. LIVE [liv, verb] was recorded, uh, live [lÄ«v, adj. or adv.] at Largo on August 3rd, 2012 at her monthly show, “Tig Has Friends.” The day before this set, Tig was diagnosed with cancer in both breasts. This news was the bookend to an agonizing year in which Tig spent weeks in the hospital battling an intestinal bacteria infection. A week after being released from the hospital, her mother unexpectedly died. Then, in the middle of it all, her relationship fell apart. Which leads us here. Tig’s 30 minute set is not much more than an open-mic set in that it’s half scripted, raw and real. It’s an insightful detailing of her assessing a horrible set of circumstances in a calm, clever and clear manner. “Live at The Moth” was recorded on December 5th at The Avalon Hollywood. The story, recorded for the acclaimed storytelling podcast, is a companion piece of sorts to LIVE. In the 16 minute piece, Tig elaborates on the death of her mother and how the untimely passing eventually lead to a reconnection with her step father.

Jens Lekman’s songs are each so different stylistically, each a classic in its own way. He employs each of the following as central features in his songs: horn sections, string sections, a capella singing, steel drums, piano balladry, and mandolin. Lekman is a young pop crooner from Sweden. Eyes bright, heart wide open, he’s become an overnight sensation with his home recorded magic and fantastic lyrics. It’s hard to believe that he is only 23 here. He could as well be playing Las Vegas. His timeless elegance makes the big, beautiful suburban pop songs sound like they’re already classics. With an angelic voice and golden ears he seems to be drinking from the same hard waters as the Carpenters, Harry Nilsson, the Magnetic Fields, Smog, the Modern Lovers and Belle & Sebastian.

Seventeen Seconds was the second album by the Cure originally released in 1980. It was too bleak for bassist Michael Dempsey who left after hearing Robert Smith's demos. Smith went his own merry/miserable way in the end and the album is a fine example of their spindly proto-goth. It contains one of their finest moments in menacing single A Forest which exemplifies the dark nature of the material on the album.

Slow Pulp's remarkable full-length debut Moveys is a testament to hard-fought personal growth. In the process of making their new record, the Chicago-based indie rock band powered through health challenges, personal upheaval, and a pandemic, all while learning how to be better songwriters and friends. Full of blistering energy and emotional catharsis, this compelling 10-track collection highlights the band's resourcefulness and resilience to come together even when they were states away. As the band was in the midst of finishing the album, Massey's parents got in a severe car accident forcing her to pause recording and return home to Madison and take care of them. A week later, the Covid-19 pandemic hit. "I wasn't able to come back to Chicago for a while. How were we going to finish this apart from each other?" thought Massey. With Stoehr leading engineering, mixing, and production duties, the band managed to continue recording in an isolated, post-COVID world. "Thankfully most instrumentals were already written. Alex and Henry and I were all able to do that separately from a studio space that we rent in Chicago," says Mathews. As Massey's father Michael recovered from his injuries, the two worked on completing her vocal takes from his home studio, sending them to Stoehr for mixing. "Finishing this record was such a cool thing to know that we were able to do it," says Stoehr. Their made-up word "moveys" is multi-faceted for Slow Pulp. It is an invitation to dance. It is a wink at the cross-country nature of the album's songwriting process, while the bandmates were literally on the move touring, sheltering in place, and going through major life changes. But, mostly, it's an inside joke. Listening to these warm, dynamic and welcoming songs, it's easy to feel like you're a part of it too.

Faye Webster's songs are a direct line to the human unconscious, and "Underdressed at the Symphony" documents what happens when one begins to build a new self from the wreckage of old routines. Her previously released songs "But Not Kiss" and "Lifetime" already show the rarely explored territory of emotional intimacy, where desire and passion conflict with comfort, understanding and even platonic love. These themes are echoed in "Underdressed at the Symphony," along with hyper-specific symbols that paint a picture of Webster's life, such as "eBay Purchase History" or the objects she covets at "Lego Ring."

"Underdressed at the Symphony" was recorded with her longtime band at Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas and revels in experimentation, playfulness and adventure. Vocoder moments, orchestral flourishes, spooky harmonies and synthesizers emerge without compromising the spacious quality of Webster's earlier music, so her lyrics still have plenty of room to bubble to the surface with additional layers of meaning. Matt "Pistol" Stoessel's pedal steel tones provide just the right shimmer, while Wilco's Nels Cline contributes his undeniably soulful dexterity to a number of songs. Huddling together on the literal border between the US and Mexico gave the musicians room to isolate, focus and experiment. All of the songs on this album are live recordings, some of which were recorded on the first or second take, showcasing Webster's talent for drawing a universal experience from a very specific, seemingly small moment.

These recordings go back to 2021.BIG Scenic Nowhere played a show out in Joshua Tree and while we were all in the same place (Tony the singer lives like 20 hours away) we thought we should spend two days jamming in the studio. Our usual way of recording is jam out freely and then edit those jams down into songs afterwards. The song “The Way Down” was the last jam of that session. We were about to pack up and Tony Reed started playing the main riff. Sometimes that’s all it takes to get immersed into a 25 min jam.

"Everything is only transition": this is the name of Max Rieger's new album. One can regard this as an artistic credo, as a self-description, as an aesthetic programme. With Max Rieger it has always been like this; everything has always been in transition: in becoming, in flow. For more than a decade, he has been one of the most influential artists in German pop, more versatile and inventive than almost anyone else. With his group Die Nerven, he has given electrically amplified guitar rock in this country a new shape and a new edge. Die Nerven have released five albums since 2012, most recently their black album in 2022, dark, hard, at the same time nihilistic and ironic music, borne of great wisdom and knowledge of the wisdom of the primitive. Max Rieger is also a great creator of sound, he is someone who knows how to refine music and ideas, who lets himself be inspired as much as he inspires. For a whole generation of young artists, he has become an important, formative partner and mentor, as a producer and as a supportive songwriter. He produced the album "Alles war schön und nichts tat weh" for Casper 2022, worked with Mia Morgan, Stella Sommer, Ilgen-Nur, Jungstötter and Drangsal and most recently with the legendary noise pioneers Swans. If you want to gauge the true greatness of Max Rieger, you - admittedly - have to listen to his solo albums, which he releases under the name All diese Gewalt. "Kein Punkt wird mehr fixiert" was the name of the solo debut in 2014, since then two more albums have been released, the majestically soft "Welt in Klammern" in 2016 and the cool "Andere" from 2020. "Alles ist nur Übergang" is now his fourth work as All diese Gewalt, it continues the great lines of Rieger "s work and yet raises his art to a new level: his music has never sounded so organic, so floating, so seemingly effortlessly played along and at the same time intense, with an improbable feeling for dramaturgy, for the right balance between letting the sounds drift and the sudden break that changes everything.

Throughout their legendary, decade-long run, the Shadow Ring were an enigmatic force on theinternational musical sub-underground. Before their disbandment in 2002, this shambolic rockoutfit, formed by a group of rowdy teenagers in southeast England, left behind a mighty run of eightLPs, a handful of 7"s, and a spate of raucous live shows and cryptic zine appearances on both sidesof the Atlantic, all which have bolstered their enduring word-of-mouth mystique. Beginning this yearwith the first-ever vinyl pressing of the self-released pre-Shadow Ring tape The Cat & Bells Club(1992), Blank Forms Editions is conducting a systematic retrospective of the storied group, includinga multi-year LP reissue effort and a forthcoming comprehensive CD box set and an over fivehundred page book.Recorded in summer of 1994 at S.H.P studios (frontman Graham Lambkin's parents' home), thegroup's sophomore record Put the Music In Its Coffin is a more sinister, saturnine affair than theirdebut City Lights. Coffin was many listeners' introduction to the Shadow Ring, who had hithertoself-released their music, courting a steady stable of international fans through the magazine andmail-order catalog Forced Exposure. For their follow-up, the duo reached out to the ascendingPhiladelphia label Siltbreeze, whose eclectic roster of sneering, low-fidelity rock and noise connecteddisparate subterranean scenes from rust-belt America to the English Midlands, Dunedin, andbeyond. As luck would have it, Siltbreeze proprietor Tom Lax was already a fan of the band's firstrecord and arranged to release both a 7" and their "difficult second album." The connection provedto run deeper than vinyl_within six months, Lax would pick up the pair from the airport for theirspring 1995 US tour. This episode marked not only their first trip to the States but their first liveperformances at all, formally introducing the Shadow Ring to the American underground andsolidifying the allure of the Folkestone pair.From the get-go...

Back in New York in 1979 she started to perform again live, appearing firstly at the Cbgb with John Cale and musical partner Lutz Ulbrich (former guitarist of Agitation Free and Ash Ra Tempel)… Back in France, she met young and talented Corsican bassist Philippe Quilichini who produced her comeback, Drama of Exile, in 1981. The album was released twice, in two different versions. Hereby we present the second, appearing in 1983, after a legal controversy was settled with Aura Records that released the first issue. While the first press was a 9-track offering, this second issue excludes “Purple Lips” but adds the tracks “Saeta” and “Vegas” released on a 7″ single in 1981. For this album, Nico recorded covers of the Velvet Underground’s “I’m Waiting for the Man” and David Bowie’s “Heroes”.

Melbourne auteur Andrew Wilson (Andras, A.R.T. Wilson, Wilson Tanner) soils the 'Australian songbook' with a collection of fragile, private and deranged songs of parrots, pancakes and gelignite amidst the Victorian Gold Rush of 1850s.

Old Gold is filled with fakes and fools, rumbling stomachs and acousmatic terrors - a lonely, self-pitying search evoked by faintly medieval folk music that sounds almost period-perfect but somehow, oddly, wonderfully spoiled.

Gut string guitars, water-logged mandolins, bar room banjos and no-fidelity piano all sound perfectly organic - except they're not. No acoustic instruments were handled in the making of the record, including environmental sounds which were generated during a residency at Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio. The reproduction of familiar sounds via inorganic means situates the record in a moonlit, melancholy hole of its own.

Old Gold was written, played and recorded by Andrew Wilson, and mastered by Mikey Young. Artwork is by Luca Schenardi.

Andrew Wilson has released records as Andras, A.R.T. Wilson, Berko and House Of Dad and he is one half of Wilson Tanner. His work has appeared on labels including Beats In Space, Efficient Space, Growing Bin Records, Public Possession, Dopeness Galore, Mexican Summer and his own Punp imprint.

The Glass Passenger is the second album by American alternative rockers Jack’s Mannequin. It captures frontman Andrew McMahon during a darker period, after he was diagnosed with leukaemia. Some painful subjects are woven into the pop-rock and orchestral sounds. From the slow-burning “Spinning” to the razor sharp single “Swim”, it’s a versatile and colourful album.

Jack’s Mannequin is the side project of Andrew McMahon from pop punk band Something Corporate. They recorded three albums during their existence. McMahon crafted some incredible pop songs for the band.

The album, which also contains bonus track “Miss California”, is available as a limited edition of 2500 individually numbered copies on silver vinyl.

First time vinyl release for this classic LOW holiday recording. We would suggest that few bands from an ostensibly "indie rock" background should release Christmas music, if not out of respect for the holiday or material then at least out of a sense of self-esteem. Low, however, were made for this. Their attention to musical detail combined with the heavenly vocal harmonies of Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker are perfectly attuned to both traditional carols like “Silent Night” and more contemporary tunes such as “Blue Christmas.” Christmas contains a selection of seasonal songs, including four originals by the band, mostly recorded at Lowʼs 20º Below studio in Duluth, MN. “If You Were Born Today” and “Blue Christmas” were released as a 7-inch single in 1997 on the English Wurlitzer Jukebox label, while “Taking Down The Tree” is taken from a 1998 compilation of live recordings issue by the Dutch Vpro radio station.

“It was late 1999. I was living in Palm Desert with Dave Dinsmore. Dave had just left Unida and Alfredo Hernandez was in town and had just left Queens of the Stone Age. I had a rare bit of downtime from touring with Fu Manchu. The three of us started jamming at the house. I had just got over a bad relationship and songs were pouring out of me. Frank Kozik heard about us jamming and called me up and said he wanted to put out whatever we come up with. Within two weeks we were already recording on an 8 track reel to reel. I took the recording to brother Shneebie to mix in LA. He said the music is great but the recording is shit. He asked to re-record it. I asked when? He said now. Reports of their demise have been greatly exaggerated - the North has risen again. Close to five years since their last record, Leeds denizens AUTOBAHN re-enter the fray with the release of their third record, Ecstasy of Ruin, on 28th April via Tough Love. Half a decade is both a long time and no time at all: forever changes while some things remain eternal_ So it goes that AUTOBAHN may have re-emerged with many of the hallmarks of their characteristic blend of industrial post-punk intact, but under the bonnet they're a much leaner, more focused machine. AUTOBAHN 3.0. If 2017's The Moral Crossing was a record defined by its dramatic rhythm section, then it's not insignificant that the 2023 incarnation of AUTOBAHN arrives shaved to a four piece and sans their previous drummer. The change necessitates an evolution. Live drums have given way to drum-machines and sample-based percussion, and with it see the band reconfigure their typically blackened aesthetic into a hardened take on Electronic Body Music. As with their previous record, it's an entirely self-produced collection, recorded between two self-built studios on a range of analogue equipment, the ghosts of their industrial forefathers haunting the circuits. Indeed, some of Ecstasy of Ruin was made with pieces salvaged from Martin Hannett's legendary studio. The mark of their presence is clear and AUTOBAHN certainly feel part of the long tradition of crepuscular music to emanate from Northern Britain, be that the transgressive activities of COUM Transmissions from Hull, Sheffield Steel City or the gothic history of their very own hometown. It's a noble torch they carry. Still, if Ecstasy of Ruin forms part of a rich lineage, it also speaks to right now. No album opens with a song titled 'Post-History' and closes with another called 'Class War' without some concession to the current condition and its place within it. Noon Garden is an exotic psych-pop odyssey from one of the founding members of Flamingods. Drawing on worldly sounds from the likes of Francis Bebey and Dur Dur Band to Shintaro Sakamoto, tearing up the sonic rule book and conjuring up a distant land where you find yourself cutting loose to grooves that meander their way through a wide spectrum of African disco, funk, exotica and psychedelia. Noon Garden has received support from the likes of Clash and The Line Of Best Fit.. British born with Nigerian & Jamaican heritage, Prest spent his childhood living in Bahrain surrounded by people, like himself, who were all living on an island away from their homeland. Seeing the world from a young age and the experience of 10 years of globe-trotting touring with Flamingods are imprinted on his new project and have been a huge influence on shaping Noon Garden's tropical adventurism. As a talented multi-instrumentalist Charles has written, self-produced and played all the parts on the single himself. Noon Garden says of the album: "This debut was an experiment to get to know myself better. Writing music is a therapeutic process for me and it's taken about eight years on and off to finish this album by myself, to try understand what it was exactly that I wanted to say lyrically and explore sonically. The album's lyrics have shape-shifted so much with time but they take a curious look at the human experience; in my case growing up and soaking up a lot of cultures from an early age in the Middle East, the UK and briefly in Singapore. It's a reflection on what's past and what's yet to come, my connection with others over the years and how that inevitably shapes your outlook on what's around you. All of this told through the lens of psychedelia which has always given me a sense of possibility.
