Heavy Psych Sounds is really proud to announce a brand new series of split albums that will be called Doom Sessions. We are going to release a bunch of compilations with doom bands from Heavy Psych Sounds roster featuring some of the heaviest bands of the world doom scene. Each volume will host two bands. This record you are holding is VOL. 3 – a split album between the US "Relapse records" legendary sludge-hardcore riffers 16 and the Italian heavy sludge band Grime. A/Oratos is a Gnostic Black Metal band formed in Paris in 2016 by Wilhelm, deriving its name from the Greek Aoratos, which could be translated as in/visible.

The band engages in a struggle against the materiality and spiritual void of contemporary society through Knowledge, offering a musical reflection on the connections that govern the realms of the Visible and the Invisible.

Intensely melodic and mystical, featuring progressive variations and acoustic atmospheres, the group draws its reflection from the ancient esoteric traditions of Hermetism, Kabbalah, and Gnosis from the early centuries after AD.

Five long years after their fascinating debut, Milan-based duo A Pale December deliver their sophomore album, Death Panacea. AN Isle ATE HER don’t have the typical story that most bands in metal music do. They were an artistic mathematical monster that took over Atlanta, Georgia in the early 2000’s, but it’s members had taken some very unexpected turns in artistic direction as solo artists after they disbanded. Absolutely manic breakneck tech grindcore that was as mind-bending to listen to as it was to see live. Formed initially in July 2007, Vocalist Chaz Bell, guitarist Collin Hutchinson, drummer Matt Cooper, and various other members performed under various names, playing countless shows and tours while constantly building their musical skills.

After three years of intensive work, French romantic doom metal masters ANGELLORE are now ready to lift the veil on their new magnum opus, "Rien Ne Devait Mourir" (nothing was meant to die). Composed of eight epic, well-varied songs for a full hour of enchanting music, this third album imposes itself as the darkest, most symphonic and ambitious work of the band to date. "Rien Ne Devait Mourir" features a choir and a lot of guests playing traditional instruments (flutes, Celtic harp, cello, violin, organ, grand piano…), including the oboist/keyboard player Gunnar Ben of Skálmöld fame. Deeply emotional at heart, ANGELLORE is weaving dreamy soundscapes that not only rekindle the flame of 90’s dark metal but also bring new life into the genre.

Copenhagen’s Anti Ritual return with their second offering and first full-length album ‘Expel The Leeches’. Ten tracks of churning, pissed off, blackened hardcore, delivering a caustic commentary on the state of the world. While Anti Ritual draws on death metal, black metal, grind as well as hardcore to create its furious aesthetic, the band thematically emphasises the potential of aggressive music as being a political endeavour and furthermore its function as a cathartic cleanser for those involved.

Topics like modern capitalism, the many guises worn by the rising fascism, the fear of environmental collapse and the world we are leaving behind for future generations fuels this furious, yet dynamic record. The central drive behind the songs has once again been to find a constructive outlet for the less than optimistic outlook greeting anyone who cares to look up from their screens. These songs were written by Anti Ritual to help cope and to help put words to what surrounds us all.

As with Anti Ritual’s 2014 self-titled debut EP, the record is not meant as a pessimistic testament though. The sheer vitriol and passion poured into the making of these songs stem from a desire to make positive use of our anger and frustration. It is a way to ward off total apathy and the slow but certain descent into the indifference that covers every inch of postmodern society. An apathy that now threatens our very existence as a species.

‘Expel The Leeches’ is recorded and produced by the band itself, mastered by Brad Boatright (Nails, Sleep, From Ashes Rise a.o.) and bears artwork by Morten Grønnegaard. The album is set for a release on vinyl in 2021 through Indisciplinarian.

Hells Headbangers are proud to present a special vinyl pressing of Armoured ANGEL's Demo Mcmxcv, which will now be released on 12" vinyl for the first time ever, with silkscreened art on Side B. Most interestingly, this four-song recording was done with none other than Killing Joke's Jaz Coleman, who lent a strange-yet-sympathetic ear to Armoured ANGEL's idiosyncratic style of largely mid-tempo death metal. Perhaps it was Coleman influencing the trio or the other way around, but Demo Mcmxcv maintains a certain buoyancy, an almost hovering aspect, which renders their characteristic crunch even more hummable than before – and no amount of power nor poignancy is sacrificed in the process.
