The brilliantly dark, 2004 LP from Xasthur! Xasthur is the project of American musician Scott "Malefic" Conner. Conner formed Xasthur in 1995 and released eight studio albums of black metal by 2010, when he announced the end of the project.

Fresh from the overwhelming success of their latest album ‘IV: Sacrament’ Lancaster's heavy bards and spiritual hard rock titans Wytch Hazel have gone all in on delivering a fully-fledged, tubular-bell-ringing Christmas single. Transposing the hymnal classical influences of Handel's Messiah and the spirit of carols the like of "The First Noël” via the earthy heraldry of Steeleye Span and Wishbone Ash, the band deliver something for which perhaps only they would have the skill, sensitivity and spiritual charge. Replete with Wytch Hazel's trademark twin-guitar harmonies and finely honed arrangements, "King Of Israel" is both a stirring devotional tribute and a heartfelt message of unity, peace and goodwill to all on Earth.

The 7” red marble vinyl edition is backed by Colin Hendra’s minor key arrangement of “Auld Lang Syne” which was misspelled on the first pressing as “Old Lang Syne” by the Bad Omen elves.

Two decades into their journey as ritualistic black metal conjurers, Wolves IN THE Throne Room have emerged from the forest with Primordial Arcana, their most majestic album to date, and their first release via Relapse Records.

Primordial Arcana is the band’s first completely self-contained work: In addition to composition and performance, brothers Aaron and Nathan Weaver alongside guitarist Kody Keyworth handled all aspects of recording, producing and mixing at their own Owl Lodge Studios in the woods of Washington state.

The album’s title is a reference to the band’s ongoing reach back to the most ancient, archetypal energies.

Leadoff track “Mountain Magick” sets the august tone with alpine guitar melodies cresting skyward in triumph. “Spirit of Lightning” returns briefly to the earthly plane as a tribute to the human connections forged in music. Meanwhile, “Primal Chasm (Gift of Fire)” is an explosion of cosmic grandeur, a symphonic rendering of the hermetic maxim As above, so below as envisioned by Keyworth. In fact, Primordial Arcana is the first Wolves IN THE Throne Room record in which Kody was a part of the writing process from the start, so it benefits from his background in cosmic funeral doom.

After the mind blowing success of Witchcraft's Legend (2012), mastermind Magnus Pelander outdid himself once again with the band's 2016 offering Nucleus. Combining what made it's predecessor the modern classic it quickly became as well as elements of the band's earlier days makes Nucleus a melancholic, raging, fragile, melodic and at times noisy masterpiece filed somewhere between classic rock, doom and ambient music.

With a renewed line-up (Rage Widerberg on drums and Tobias Anger on bass) the band sounds more hungry and powerful than ever. Dormant for nearly a third of a century, originally formed in 1982 by (then) bassist Damian Thompson & drummer Andy Baker (joined by Freaky Freeman on vox & Anarchy Mole on guitar).Warwound spat & cursed out three demos of 'fast, no bullshit, hardcore punk' through late 82/early 83.Heavily influenced by the sounds of the time (Discharge, Crass, Rudimentary Peni, Motorhead, Bad Brains etc) the band played a handful of gigs around the midlands area of the U.K. before in the autumn of 1983 Damian & Andy were enlisted to join the Varukers. Warwound as it was, ceased to be. During their time in the Varukers, the pair recorded two Warwound numbers which were to be featured on the classic Varukers album 'Another Religion, Another War'. Since that time some thirty years ago, the original Warwound demo tapes have been copied and circulated many times through underground circles of D-beat noise enthusiasts. The emergence of Sacrilege in 1984 also added to keep interest alive in the old Warwound material. These hugely influential recordings (25 tracks, 15 songs in various versions) are made commercially available for the first time, and with a brand new version of the band (featuring original member Damian Thompson alongside past and present members of Varukers, Discharge, Stamping Ground, Decadence Within , Sacrilege and others)

For Sleepwalker, we wanted to come up with an original take on the stoner/doom genre. The use of heavy riffs and melodic harmonies conveys a unique listening experience that feels both new and familiar. We felt like we had a lot to say on this album, and we hope it speaks for itself.

We’re pleased to present a limited 500 copy run of this blue vinyl version with loads of extras in an expanded package, plus two bonus tracks – covers of Swedish black metal band Bathory’s “Sacrifice” and the Motorhead classic “(We Are the) Road Crew,” which Warbringer often includes in their set lists to this day. 2011’s Worlds Torn Asunder took things up a notch and Warbringer really came into their own with a confident and bold new effort, and first featuring drummer Carlos Cruz. Produced by Steve Evetts, Worlds Torn Asunder features classics like “Living Weapon” and “Shattered Like Glass.” Two years of touring continued launched by the band’s first national headlining tour and US support slots to Destruction, Symphony X, Iced Earth and Death Angel, in addition to a European tour with Arch Enemy and virtually every metal festival.

We’re pleased to present a limited 500 copy run of this blue/green vinyl version with loads of extras in an expanded package 2013’s Warbringer IV: Empires Collapse showcased the band aiming to diversify their sound and taking chances by expanding boundaries by continuing to bring in more influences from black metal to punk to industrial in a overall more experimental and free effort that was initially met with mixed reactions but has become a favorite amongst many in the band’s fanbase. Continuing to work with producer Steve Evetts (Sepultura, Hatebreed, Symphony X) the band opted for a different mix and enlisted Brett Eliason (Pearl Jam, Avenged Sevenfold) who brought a cleaner and different approach to the traditional thrash band. Staples include “The Turning of the Gears,” “Hunter-Seeker,” “Black Sun, Black Moon” and the epic “Towers of the Serpent.” The reissue adds the band’s take on the Led Zeppelin classic “Communication Breakdown.” Touring continued with notable supports to Overkill and Kreator in the US and Iced Earth in Europe.

Hailing from Norrköping, Sweden, Wanton Attack is a new heavy metal force to be reckoned with. The duo, consisting of traditional metal enthusiasts Micael Zetterberg (vocals, drums) and Niklas Holm (guitars, bass), formed in 2019 and is now ready to unleash their self-titled debut album of Arcane Metal upon the world.

Vanguard is a metallic hardcore band based out of Houston, TX; formed during the Covid-19 quarantine of 2020. Vanguard is unapologetically a vegan-leftist band, and actively supports and promotes a host of critical social and political causes, both lyrically and through the direct action and activism of its members. The band is ideologically tied to the animal liberation movement, endorses socialistpolitical theory, is vehemently anti-fascist, and believes and fights for the political, legal, educational, and economic equality of all people, regardless of race, gender, orientation, or class. Their message and sound come exploding out of the gates with a style that nods to the storied militance and aggression of metallic hardcore from decades past, while injecting the sound with their own unique modern ferocity and urgency.

The new 3LP is an album of Lustmord tracks reinterpreted by some of the spearheads of the contemporary heavy music scene – and beyond: Ulver, Enslaved, Godflesh, Zola Jesus, Bohren & DER Club OF Gore, Steve VON Till, Ihsahn, Jaye Jayle, JO QUAIL,SPOTLIGHTS, KATATONIA's Jonas Renkse , Alexander HACKE's (einstürzende Neubauten) new band Hackedepiciotto, as well as Mono, THE Ocean, Årabrot and Crown. Over 13 years after the release of [ O T H E R ] , 16 bands and solo artists have gathered to record their own unique takes on tracks from the Other-sessions. The result is an album that is more than a compilation, and more than the sum of its parts; covering a wide and diverse range of musical territories, but sharing the same underlying mood and vibe defined by Lustmord's timeless soundscapes: from the ambient solo performances provided by Ihsahn, Enslaved or Jonas Renkse to the subdued voice of Zola Jesus woven into Lustmord's sombre fabric to the industrial carnage that is Godflesh's version of 'Ashen'. What demonstrates the profound influence of Lustmord on this contemporary music underground showcased here is that these very different artists all felt inspired to explore the essence of his idiosyncratic sounds within their own realm: experimental electronica icons Ulver excel on a stunning, hazy rendition of ‘Godeater’, while Japanese post-rock act Mono deliver a crushing version of ‘Er Eb Os’, and THE Ocean take us on a cathartically heavy mindtrip back to our 'Primal [State of Being]'. In the end, each of these 16 artists delivers an interpretation that pays the deepest respect to this pivotal artist, while also standing out as a new track of its own. The Others - Lustmord Deconstructed is not only a tribute and an excellent entry point into the discography of the founding father of dark ambient. It is also a celebration of the most accomplished visionaries in the underground music scene of today, and a manifestation of what binds them together.
