For this year's Spring/Summer collection, the Levi's® Vintage Clothing designs have been inspired by the environmental movement that swept up young Americans in the late sixties and finally culminated in the very first Earth Day in 1970. In 1969, Levi's® introduced the 517™ bootcut denim pants as the "Saddleman" jeans, worn specifically over cowboy boots. The 517™ design by Levi's® played a crucial role in various subcultures, whether politically or musically motivated or in terms of personal style. Currently, Levi's® has reproduced these signature bootcut jeans with vintage denim made from sustainable organic cotton.
