SAYE Shoes

SAYE was established in 2017 under the name of Wado. Due to trademark issues, which restrained the company from continuing to expand internationally, they decided to change their name to SAYE in late 2019. In the beginning, there was just an idea of a sneakers brand that would plant trees for each sale. In early 2017, Marta, Lizzie and Damian, the founders of Wado, immediately started to deal with suppliers and manufacturers, designed prototypes and prepared the Kickstarter campaign. After one year of hard work, the trio finally launched Wado in March 2018. Thanks to the support via Kickstarter, Wado was able to produce 7,000 pairs of kicks and moved to Indiegogo – for more than 20 months, it was the only online platform where you could purchase these lovely sneakers. This time period made the project get bigger and more professional, and Wado turned into a “real” company with eight employees. In December 2019, they closed Indiegogo and launched their own web shop, while around the same time, trademark issues forced them to change their name to SAYE in order to expand internationally. Although the name changed to SAYE, the goals are still the same: To be a zero-waste brand, using as much as recycled materials as possible; fight for fair worker conditions, producing SAYE sneakers in the EU; to fight against deforestation, planting two trees for each sold unit.
