VEJA's vegan SDU Rec sneakers are not your ordinary kicks, as the Alveomesh upper is made from recycled PET bottles with synthetic leather overlays out of Brazil, plus the brand used sugar cane for the midsole and wild and fairly traded rubber as well as rice waste for the outsoles. These VEJA shoes are produced in a high standard International Labour Organization factory in Brazil. In addition, to make VEJA Santos Dumont Rec look and feel different, the design smoothly blends minimalist aesthetics with innovative technologies.

• upper: breathable Alveomesh made from 100% recycled PET bottles with synthetic suede overlays
• breathable tech lining made from 100% recycled polyester
• V appliqués made from wild rubber (60%) and rice waste (23%) on side walls
• tonal VEJA branding embossed on tongue
• padded insole with organic cotton cover, made of sugar cane, Amazon rubber and recycled EVA
• foamed midsole (including 53% ugar cane)
• abrasion-reesistant rubber outsole (42% bio-based including 12% Amazonian rubber, 30% rice waste)
