Battenwear Apparel

Battenwear was established in 2011 in New York City by designer Shinya Hasegawa who previously worked on the Woolrich Woolen Mills collection. Inspired by vintage surf wear and outdoor apparel of late 1960s through early 1980s, Battenwear items are for the adventurer who’s seeking for high-quality pieces that can handle the demands of the great outdoors while still being fashionable for everyday use in the city. The Battenwear collection includes clothing and accessories that are versatile, multi-functional, easily packable, and as comfortable as they are stylish. Plus, any Battenwear item is made with pride in North America as the brand wants to support and be a member of the invaluable NYC garment industry and to ensure all our items would be manufactured under humane working conditions. Its advantage is also that having all factories relatively nearby means that Battenwear can see through the production of each item. That’s an important fact since Battenwear wants to make sure every item comes out as the item they designed. Not just a piece of clothing or a simple accessory but rather gear built to serve you for years to come. That’s what Battenwear stands for.
