Replacement stylus for Shure M44G.

This product is a NAGAOKA produced and manufactured replacement stylus for the M44G, a cartridge widely used by DJs around the world. We have received many inquiries about a replacement stylus compatible with the M44G, since we had 'GD63-44G' in our lineup. After the production of 'GD63-44G' was discontinued, we reviewed the specifications and developed a new model. The new DJ-44G has a high sound pressure, delicate, wide-range, and powerful sound while keeping main features of toughness and solidity from the original M44G replacement.

LW-6N is the 6N lead wire made of Ultra High Purity Copper wire.
The configuration is very sofisticated with different diameter of wire strand, the inside strand is right windings, the outside strand is left winding. The end of wire is fastened by gold plated terminal.
The tight winding against each other makes the clear transmission of music signals. Clear and crisp tonality.

Mounting instructions:
All Ortofon cartridges have a colour coding of the terminals, indicating red and green for right channel respectively hot and ground terminal. White and blue for left channel respectively hot and ground terminal. Green terminal will always be used for grounding the cartridge housings or motor-system, whenever connected inside the cartridge.

We recommend to connect lead wires to the cartridge and headshell before mounting the cartridge on the headshell. Please remember correct orientation of the leads. Ortofon SH-4 headshell and Ortofon cartridges' terminal PINs diameter is 1.2 mm, whilst Ortofon headshells' PINs diameter is normally only 1.0 mm.

Using LW 6N with the SH-4 headshell requies the LW 6N shell side clamp to be widened a little bit to fit on the SH-4 PINs. If shifted around, it may cause over-tightening of the assembly. Being aware about this detail, you will avoid the risk of having the cartridge's terminal PINs fall out.

Our VM95 Series dual moving magnet cartridges can be used almost forever by replacing the interchangeable stylus. All Ortofon cartridges have a colour coding of the terminals, indicating red and green for right channel respectively hot and ground terminal. We recommend to connect lead wires to the cartridge and headshell before mounting the cartridge on the headshell. Please remember correct orientation of the leads. Ortofon SH-4 headshell and Ortofon cartridges' terminal PINs diameter is 1.2 mm, whilst Ortofon headshells' PINs diameter is normally only 1.0 mm.

Using LW 7N with the SH-4 headshell requies the LW 7N shell side clamp to be widened a little bit to fit on the SH-4 PINs. If shifted around, it may cause over-tightening of the assembly. Being aware about this detail, you will avoid the risk of having the cartridge's terminal PINs fall out.

The LH-2000 is a basic high quality headshell designed specifically for HiFi applications. Providing a clean, minimalist aesthetic, the LH-2000 is great for a wide variety of cartridges, e.g. the 2M Series .

Knowing the fundamental headshell dimensions will in a lot of cases make it easier to mount and align cartridge and tonearm correctly. Please scroll to the bottom of the page to see the headshells mounting dimensions chart.

Optimal fit and sound reproduction
If your tonearm has a standard headshell or a cartridge mount, then step up to optimal sound reproduction with OM’s. A glance at anyone of these cartridges will reveal Ortofon's answer to perfect tonearm matching. Ingeniously tucked into the top of the mounting bracket is a tiny, removable weight-plate.

Styli types and interchangeability
The OM 5s features a Spherical diamond. Spherical diamonds are the simplest and most robust diamonds. The OM 5E and Super OM 5E feature an Elliptical diamond.

The 2M Series is developed in conjunction with the Danish Industrial designer Møller Jensen Design – the same designer who designed the award winning MC Jubilee and Kontrapunkt series. Inspired by the facets of a diamond, whose contours gracefully trace the grooves on a record’s surface, the 2M’s handsome elegance establishes a great combination of form and functionality.

The LH-4000 is a basic high quality headshell designed specifically for HiFi applications. Providing a clean, minimalist aesthetic, the LH-4000 is great for a wide variety of cartridges, specially recommended for the MC Quintet series.

All Ortofon cartridges have a colour coding of the terminals, indicating red and green for right channel respectively hot and ground terminal. White and blue for left channel respectively hot and ground terminal. Green terminal will always be used for grounding the cartridge housings or motor-system, whenever connected inside the cartridge.

We recommend to connect lead wires to the cartridge and headshell before mounting the cartridge on the headshell.

Please remember correct orientation of the leads. Ortofon cartridges' terminal PINs diameter is 1.2 mm, whilst Ortofon headshells' PINs diameter is only 1.0 mm.

The 2M Series is developed in conjunction with the Danish Industrial designer Møller Jensen Design – the same designer who designed the award winning MC Jubilee and Kontrapunkt series. Inspired by the facets of a diamond, whose contours gracefully trace the grooves on a record’s surface, the 2M’s handsome elegance establishes a great combination of form and functionality.

The name 2M was selected from among several ideas. We wanted a modern name that would be easy to pronounce and remember, and therefore an alphanumerical name was chosen. 2M means MM, which is the abbreviation for moving magnet.

Of course the 2M isn’t just another pretty face. It has been engineered to the highest standards and is congruent with Ortofon’s unrelenting commitment to providing the most precise and accurate reproduction possible without coloration.

The 2M series of cartridges features Ortofon’s trademark split pole pins, an invention that enables moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response, as with a moving coil cartridge. The AT-VM95EN, features a Nude Elliptical Diamond. The construction of the stylus being a one piece diamond with a round shank inserted in the cantilever creates a lighter and more rigid transmission system than a diamond tip bonded on a round titanium shank such as in the AT-VM95E. Also the use of nude diamond implies a substantial difference in pricing, yet the quality of the reproduction will be immediately noticed, specifically in the fidelity of high frequencies and in the quality of the transient responses.

ELLIPTICAL NUDE STYLUS

LW-800S is the most sophisticated lead wires composed of Pure Silver and Silver coated wire.
The end of wire is fastened by Rhodium plated terminal.
Since Silver has the best electrical conductive properties of all the metals, the LW-800S silver wire is able to transmits the very clear high tone signals, which brings the brilliant tonality to the sound reproduction.

Mounting instructions:
All Ortofon cartridges have a colour coding of the terminals, indicating red and green for right channel respectively hot and ground terminal. White and blue for left channel respectively hot and ground terminal. Green terminal will always be used for grounding the cartridge housings or motor-system, whenever connected inside the cartridge.

We recommend to connect lead wires to the cartridge and headshell before mounting the cartridge on the headshell. Please remember correct orientation of the leads. Ortofon SH-4 headshell and Ortofon cartridges' terminal PINs diameter is 1.2 mm, whilst Ortofon headshells' PINs diameter is normally only 1.0 mm.

Using LW 8N with the SH-4 headshell requies the LW 8N shell side clamp to be widened a little bit to fit on the SH-4 PINs. If shifted around, it may cause over-tightening of the assembly. Being aware about this detail, you will avoid the risk of having the cartridge's terminal PINs fall out.

The E3 cartridge, representing the top of the range features the same aluminium cantilever as the E2, but benefits from a superior, bonded, super-elliptical (0.3 x 0.7 mil) stylus. The AT-VM95EN, features a Nude Elliptical Diamond. The construction of the stylus being a one piece diamond with a round shank inserted in the cantilever creates a lighter and more rigid transmission system than a diamond tip bonded on a round titanium shank such as in the AT-VM95E. Also the use of nude diamond implies a substantial difference in pricing, yet the quality of the reproduction will be immediately noticed, specifically in the fidelity of high frequencies and in the quality of the transient responses.
