In 2001, a group of graffiti artists did dome mural paintings in Münster, Germany. Although it’s kinda contradictory, the called themselves Egotrips Crew based on the idea to push the creativity of individuals encouraged by a group of friends. But the term Egotrips is also a persiflage as these guys don’t believe that individualism is available in this day and age. Officially established in 2004, the Egotrips office for visual communication became the home base of the company. About one year later, some street art graphics found its way on t-shirts to illustrate the Egotrips state of mind. A couple of years plus lots of screen-printed artworks later, the clothing department became an important part of Egotrips, so they made Egotrips Clothing an official business in 2012. Besides graffiti and street art, the DIY (Do It Yourself) philosophy always played a major role within the company. Being interested in arts, music and photography, Egotrips is continuously trying to build a network of creative folks that mutually push their talents and help out each other, since friends are the family you picked by yourself.
