Filson established his Pioneer Alaska Clothing and Blanket Manufacturers that was specialized in goods to outfit the stampeders on their trip to the Klondike Gold Rush that was in full effect at that time. When the Gold Rush was over, Filson still kept listening to his customers, and due to his rep, outdoorsmen kept coming to Filson for rugged clothes – not least because Filson added clothing for the timber industry, including the legendary Filson Cruiser. The brand was known for producing its items from the best fabrics, and since the 1960s, Filson is one of the premier outdoor outfitters on this planet.
