For more than 20 years, Chup Socks presents designs dedicated to indigenous patterns blended with high-end quality – and all Chup Socks have been hand-crafted in Japan. Each pair of Chup socks is woven to the highest quality through a stocking frame machine, whilst paying utmost care and attention to details on color and design. All designs are Chup originals and executed with the most beautiful selection of yarns available. Chup’s goal is to design high quality, yet comfortable socks, without compromising the intricate patterns of each style. The machines used are a traditional low gauge stocking frame machine, which on average, a single machine only produces 20-25 pairs a day. The type of knitting for Chup socks is called jacquard knitting, so there should be lots of yarns inside the sock. The reason you can see cuts ends of yarns is, if they weren’t cut and remained loops, they would snag on your toes when you try to put them on, and also partly because the yarns all act as elastic to some degree – if they weren’t cut and remained continuous, the socks would become overly tight.
