These different influences result in a harmonious balance between symmetry, repetition, geometry and the beauty of imperfection. In terms of color palettes, Asics focuses on shades, neutrals and pastels.

The Asics GT-2160 pays homage to the technical design language of the GT-2000 series that made a splash in the early 2010s. This version of the Asics GT-2160 maintains the heritage of the heritage trainer while retaining key features like the sleek, wavy aesthetic and wave-like shaping in the forefoot. Other significant details from the 2010s on the Asics GT-2160 include a segmented midsole structure and cushioning GEL inserts in the midsole. This combination creates an industrial aesthetic that is met with advanced cushioning properties.
