The story of the brand began on a surf trip through California, when the founders of Rumpl had to spend the night in a van. Waking up one night to sub-zero temperatures in a car that wouldn’t start, they decided to wrap themselves in their sleeping bags. Their cell phones had no reception, so an idea was born out of necessity. Some time passed, which the Rumpl boys used to have a conversation about bedding. At some point, the two noticed that the warmth of the sleeping bags felt better than their quilts at home. This realization was followed by the decision to work on developing blankets with the best possible comfort for campers and adventurers.
